Reworks for Subclass Pickups (Breach, Firesprite, Trace, Shard, Tangle)

Making subclass pickups utility focused would be a cool way to further define each subclass. Tangles accomplish this with the grapple, but the others only provide ability energy. Instead of giving ability energy, this is what I'm thinking: [b]------ Void Breach ------[/b] --> Has 3 charges with one charge used each time you or an ally passes through it (can’t be picked up or absorbed) --> When you or allies run through the breach it grants invisibility for 3 seconds and gives a blink charge that temporarily replaces jump (expires when invisibility runs out and can be extended by extending invisibility) --> Breach evaporates after passed through 3 times or after 30 seconds, whichever comes first --> Enemies near the breach when an ally passes through it makes them volatile [b]------ Solar Firesprite ------[/b] --> Slowly tracks toward its creator like a wisp (can’t be picked up or absorbed) --> As soon as anyone comes within 2m of the firesprite, it releases a 4m burst of light that cures allies and scorches enemies for 60 stacks --> Goes on 5 second cooldown after each burst before it can burst again and burns out after 3 bursts or after 30 seconds, whichever comes first --> Aspect idea with new warlock solar soul (Hellion): Solar Soul shoots out to firesprite and powers it, extending its life [b]------ Arc Ionic Trace ------[/b] --> Tracks to creator and grants amplified which resets with additional trace pickup --> Paths created by traces linger for 3 seconds after trace received by creator --> Running along lingering path increases recharge rate for lowest charged ability for self and allies --> Enemies that cross the path get jolted [b]------ Stasis Shard ------[/b] --> Shatters upon being picked up and grants frost armor for 10 seconds to self and nearby allies --> Does small shatter damage to nearby enemies --> Picking up additional shards resets frost armor --> Collecting 3 shards before frost armor runs out creates a cold field that slows enemies [b]------ Strand Tangle ------[/b] --> Can be picked up and thrown and grappled to --> Explodes on impact and damages enemies --> Throwing it at an ally instead gives them woven mail for 4 seconds [b]------------------[/b] There could also be grenades for each subclass based on these changes to subclass pickups: [b]------ Void: Breach Grenade ------[/b] --> When thrown creates a large breach that attaches to a surface for 10 seconds and is difficult for enemies to see --> Breach emits bursts of volatile light at enemies who walk passed it, making them volatile and marks them through walls --> Hits with additional bursts of void light create void explosions [i][u]Breach Grenade Utility: Breach Teleporter[/u][/i] (have chaos accelerant aspect equipped to use) --> When grenade and class ability are fully charged, create a breach teleporter --> Consuming class ability energy first creates void breach at users location. Throw grenade to set teleporter end location --> Throwing grenade into non-traversable areas or using it in Tessellation after consuming class ability energy makes the breach created by class ability energy become a normal void breach --> Teleporter can be used 3 times [b]------ Solar: Firesprite Grenade ------[/b] --> Breaks into three larger firesprites on impact that move in a circle outward from point of impact, following along any surfaces they run into --> As soon as anyone comes within 1m of one of the firesprite, it releases a 3m burst of light that cures allies and ignites enemies --> Causes the other firesprites to burst if still within range of each other --> Goes on 2 second cooldown after each burst before it can burst again and each firesprite burns out after 2 bursts or after 12 seconds, whichever comes first [b]------ Arc: Trace Grenade ------[/b] --> Creates a large web of traces along the ground that damages and jolts enemies within AOE --> Self and allies amplified when running through AOE [b]------ Stasis: Shard Grenade ------[/b] --> Shatters on impact and gives frost armor for 10 seconds to self and allies within AOE --> Does shatter damage to enemies within range --> Throwing it at a stasis crystal creates a huge explosion, greatly increasing damage and AOE [b]------ Strand: Tangle Grenade ------[/b] --> Large tangle that is thrown and can be grappled --> Creates a very large unraveling explosion --> Enemies in AOE unraveled and Allies in AOE receive woven mail for 4 seconds [b]------------------[/b] Lastly, there needs to be a better word than "pickups" for these items. Maybe subclass "elementals"?

  • Also, there could be an exotic weapon that allows any class to create breach teleporters. Or if you load a breach grenade in tessellation maybe it would work?
