Hello, I am having a major issue regarding audio functionality in this game. It appears that Destiny 2 has been updated to support Native Atmos on Xbox Series X|S consoles & Windows PC’s, but it currently limits itself to 2-channel stereo now, and surround sound is completely busted.
I have a home theatre system which can detect wether it is decoding a native Atmos track. When the Xbox or PC is set to Dolby Atmos for Home Theatre, all 7.1 & 5.1 content gets upmixed via the Dolby Surround Upmixer and gets decoded as Dolby Surround LPCM. When I played the game a month or two ago on Xbox, I was only getting Dolby Surround LPCM to my home theatre system, and the 7.1 Upmix was functioning properly. Now I am getting native Dolby Atmos, but the surround sound is completely broken, so this must have been a recent update
It appears though that the last gen Xbox One S did not receive this update, and playing on my Xbox One S still comes out via Dolby Surround, and the 7.1 Upmix sounds great, and surround sound speakers are functioning properly.
However on the devices that got the Dolby Atmos upgrade, surround sound support is lost. You can even hear the channel support there for 2-4 seconds, but once the sound system begins decoding as Dolby Atmos, you can instantly hear the channel support cut out.
I have made a video showcasing the issue and is linked above. Is anyone else having this issue as well?
While I’m glad that Bungie was thoughtful enough to update the games with native Atmos, it’s currently very busted in its current implementation. I hope they can either fix the problem, or simply revert the Xbox & PC back to 7.1 & Dolby Surround LPCM, as it definitely sounds much better with 7 channels than 2.

Having the same issue. Dolby Atmos enabled is sending no sound to my surround speakers. If I turn on Dolby Digital in the Xbox settings I get output.
