I searched bungie id and sent a bungie friend request via steam Destiny 2 client recently, and he clicked agree on steam Desitny 2 client, but I didn't see he in my friend list, nor on bungie.net website or in companion app either. Now on website & companion app, my friend request is shown at "Outgoing Requests", that indicates we actually not bungie friends. However, when I search his bungie id in game client, there's a button says "remove friend", this button also not functional, keeps showing "remove friend". Both of us can't see each other in friend list. -- Here is some information may relate: Both of us enabled cross save, he linked all 4 platforms and I linked 3 except playstation; My active account is steam, his active account is playstation;
