Game data is technically stored on Bungies servers....BUT bound to the system that created them. You can set up cross save where you can use your toons on epic.
Any dlc you purchased does NOT transfer in cross save and MUST be purchased on all systems.

Can you please elaborate ? I understand that I won't be able to transfer the dlc from steam to epic or vice versa. But what about the game concent and my loots and my experience in my game. ?
