To start, thank you for not making this checkmate.
I like supremacy. This is supremacy plus gambit, which sounds intriguing. However, the forced “play the objective or else” mindset hurts this (and other) modes. You should get one point per kill and one/two additional points per crest dunk. Give credit, even a little, for the players out there doing the work.
Let’s put it this way - you could get a “I made this for you” medal then get killed and make zero points for your team. You could get a “we ran,” then dunk and get six points.
OR you could get six kills, then chase a quickly moving bank back and forth and back and forth, just looking for a place to bank your six points. You could even get eight more kills while trying to find that bank, but none of it matters. That’s not very equitable, or respectful of a players skill/time.
This “looking for a bank” story happened to me, and finally I died near the third bank I’d gotten to (that hadn’t disappeared). And you know what? It felt super lame. It made me want to stop playing the game completely. All that work, zero points. In fact, the other team was on a total runaway - 78ish to 17ish. And here I am with my six little crests, highlighted on the enemy’s screen, just trying to find a bank.
Bungie - I get that you don’t want every mode to be clash, but don’t kill potentially fun OBJ modes by enforcing the OBJ above all else. It has to be a blend of OBJ and kills. You have to reward players for being good at gunplay, even if that reward is lessened to encourage more obj.
I can’t say for certain, again because it’s thankfully not checkmate, but I don’t think I’m gonna be hangin out for iB with this game mode. There’s just too much potential for frustration and runaway wins/losses.

You know… I just trashed Bungie for this gamemode. But you have a solid take on how to make it playable. They should also have two bank points that are set and only disappear for the bigger one during a Hunt.
