I swear they were removed at least in small part because it's mean to throw snowballs at people that aren't expecting it. That's the kind of stuff, if true, that can actually wind up making less regular every day people want to play when it builds up over time, because no one wants to come home from work and feel like there's all these different parts of the game that feature unnecessary nanny provisions. And when some of them start to come across to people as being too values based for no reason it can even be a turn off to people that really were just trying to play a game after work.
