I hope the persons responsible for Heist Battlegrounds nightfall balancing were among those who got fired; unlike the others, they deserve it.
I just cannot be that you pop a well of radiance and get blasted while inside it within a second.
It is beyond me how you can weaken players on the one side by reducing their max resilience by a whopping 25% and upping the difficulty in such activities on the other side. Are you too dumb for math? You didn't just double the difficulty, you quadrupled it, you m*r*ns. This has nothing to do any more with presenting an activity in a game that while being a challenge, still is fun and exhilarating. It may be rewarding for kids and persons with nothing meaningful to do in their lives, but not for somebody who has, is looking for a leisure activity and loves a reasonable challenge. And this isn't reasonable at all.
Destiny is meant to be a game. I will definitely not sink tons of hours into such bullsh*t to get some title. There needs to be some reasonable effort/result ratio here, and right now, it isn't. You game devs don't get any glory for making an activity so ultra hard that only kids with super human reflexes and no life outside of Destiny can master them. Their skill's light does not reflect on you and doesn't make you pro, no matter how much you wish it in your delusion. It's not the minuscule minority of "elite" players that make Destiny stand out or appealing, nor does their performance make you elite. Destiny needs to become a game where challenges, while being challenging, still are accessible and feasible for decent players in a reasonable amount of time and not just the top 0.01% who can spend two days on them.
It also simply isn't fun to hide behind rocks or in hallways and to work on champions forever to grind them down, ducking into cover when just hit by some splash damage to recover from the 10% health that left you. That has nothing to do with some fluid gameplay where you can actually employ some tactics. The only idea your uncreative, sub average game devs seem to have to make something harder since the inception of this game is to add more health to ads and take more health away from players.
Bungie, you always were failing in such regards, but since you got those new guys in it has gotten even worse than before.
Edit:
I have to adjust this feedback and put the activity design more into focus. The battlegrounds nightfalls are designed horribly, encouraging and even enforcing static gameplay and cheesing. Just take the Lightblade in comparison: You end up in a huge arena that provides cover, but the entire setup and ad flow never allows you to go static. You need to stay on the move, have good situational awareness, have team organization regarding taking the boss' aggro and dealing with champions and knight majors. That nightfall has some good design regarding the architecture, ad composition and ad behavior. For me, that's the perfect nightfall, and I enjoyed every minute of it. What a difference compared to the awful battlegrounds which are simply throwing tons of ads at you, all of which are bullet sponges, forcing you to defensive positions with - I say it again - static gameplay, ducking behind cover and using cheese spots to give you a reasonable chance of survival.
So no, I am not too dumb or unskilled for battlegrounds, I resent their entire design philosophy. They are uninspired, boring and do not really challenge you to play creatively, proactively and flexibly like e.g. the Lightblade nightfall does.

Skill issue ig, they aren’t very hard
-
BG's arent too hard imo, but they lack inspiration. Strikes and BGs are not the same, because you can see there was time and money invested into strikes whereas BGs are simple arenas with rehashed assets.

All gms are way to easy they are basically free at this point

Funny , i logged into destiny 2 after not playing for a while with power level 1805 and 18 resil and did all the GM's this season in one go with lfg on my invis hunter ... Then i farmed GM's on all subclasses . So if you are struggling then just equip an invis hunter . Invis will make your life so much easier man . You can do it on any class honestly but if you really want a clear and don't care about doing it multiple times then just do it on invis hunter and maybe bring a stasis warlock aswell . That could help aswell . And for christ sake ... 100 resil is not gonna do anything . Maybe invest more in recovery , discipline and whatever your class ability is . Look , you are getting shot in a well with 100 resil and resist mods on , stop relying on that stupid resil like 90% of the community does and use your abilities , shoot your guns , be aware of your surroundings , know where enemies are coming from , play together with your teammates , make orbs , use supers and all . Just some friendly advice from a guy who was wasted more than 5000 hours into this mess 😉

The heist battle grounds should never have been implemented. There not fun fin as strikes and we ran then during the seasonal implementation and got real old real quick. They need to just make strikes like they used to.
-
It's trash beyond belief. When I get an og strike in my playlist, I get a smile on my face. Maybe that was the goal. We conplained about the same strikes, they gave as an abomination that are BGs, now we appreciate the same old strikes lol

Battleground Mars first room, after found A B C. It basically: stand here, pop well, tether, freeze or shackle, rinse repeat, easy as can be. But if you want to run off-meta loadouts, it will be a struggle. I truly dislike battlegrounds GMs.
-
Oh but they intend to nerf well more because it makes content too easy ...

Edited by Itcus: 11/7/2023 1:28:29 PMGM's are garbage. They ALL need to be harder. Dunno what your problem is but this game is too easy already.

The only major issue I have with the GM Battlegrounds are the arena’s. They weren’t designed with Master or Grandmaster difficulty in mind, only Legend. They’re either far too easy due to the open nature of taking place in a patrol space or too difficult due to be in an enclosed space with poor cover choices without employing cheese. Hopefully with the Episode Model replacing Seasons we will get less hand me downs and more actual Strikes. Or just return older strikes and update them.

1. The heist GMs are some of the easier GMs. 2. That’s why you don’t place your well in the open. You put it near cover to help it not get broken, give you line of sight on enemy, and to move around in to help with recovering. 3. This is coming from a mid-40s old fella who isn’t that good at the game (especially not pvp).

There kind of middle of the road tbh not that hard

I going to say something I'm not proud of but before you get upset, hear me out; skill issue. I won't deny that I think Battlegrounds are nothing but unending waves of one-shotting a-hole enemies and I find them remarkably overwhelming. That said though, I've run a few with some players that make it look just this side of the "easy" line, and that while carrying my sorry behind at the same time. What some of us need to do (and that includes me, emphatically) is up our game and keep practicing until we're on that level. I hope you understand I'm not trying to belittle you; I just want to be honest about how I see the difficulty when I'm running them.

1. The reduction to Resilience was minimal at best and the people who find the changes that noticeable were clearly crutching on it hard. 2. GM’s are just as easy as they were prior to the release of Lightfall. 3. Just because you ride the short struggle bus that doesn’t equate to it being a game issue. 4. 🍼
