It is really easy to cheer for destiny and the creators to fail. Time after time they do not listen to suggestions not only from fans but also from within their own teams! Everyone who has played destiny for a long time has passion for the game.
I have a couple of suggestions that might make the game feel refreshing
1. Instead of stale periods in the game how about come up with some cool ideas that break the game in a way that makes it fun for the community.
Ex: Exotics Week: Where you can equip exotic every slot both armor and weapon.
Ex: Super Week where your super charges super fast
Ex: Add the super weapon crafting back in for a week
Players had such a fun time with that. It was fun.
How about redesigning a armor set and releasing guns that were not available in a dungeons and a raid
Ex: Deep Stone add a auto rifle and pulse Rifle and grenade launcher This way it adds some new content to areas of the game to gain excitement and for players to chase new weapons and armor.
Anyone else have suggestions I'd love to hear from everyone!

Love the enthusiasm but the real reason Bungie are failing is due to their own mismanagement. What they need is your money. Not a lot of players are in the mood to just “throw money at the screen” for “under delivering”. When Bungie talk of “player engagement” what they mean is “micro transactions” - because their data shows the more you play, the more you spend on eververse.

I want Destiny to fail. Failure is the best teacher in the world.
-
I don't want Bungie to fail, just get hurt enough for other games' developers to see how to not treat your player base. The minute you start taking things for granted is the time when things starts to fall down. I do hope this is a wake up call for Bungie. I really do as I used to no-life this game but the things they've been getting away with aggressive monetisation, difficulty levels and not listening to their own players AND their own devs. I'll play the next season as I've already paid for it and then IF The Final Shape gets good reviews I'll play that to finish out the story but nothing more. They've lost me as a player.

Bungie’s failure is Inevitable! I wish they never ruined Destiny in the first place.

Coming up 45% short on expected revenue has a lot more to do with not getting and keeping new players, as well as holding onto veteran players than actual fun. These problems have been building for years and Bungie’s halfassed approach to the game made people stop buying new content and stop buying flare. It all goes back to dismantling the story of D1 due to it being too linear. Well, it’s all over the place just like how they wanted it. The story has progressed so much, and so much has been cut and removed, that new players have no idea wtf is going on. Does that sound like a fun game to play? No… maybe… they could hook people in with something like Trials? Well, they ruined matchmaking, they got rid of freelance, got rid of the flawless pool too. Now someone playing their first match of the week on a Sunday afternoon can be matched with a team of people who have already gone flawless. It happened to me last week. My teams had no chance in any match I played. Didn’t even bother trying this week. My Dad played this game religiously for years but says he will not ever play again until there are far more match made activities and that’s another big problem, locking people out of content because they don’t like LFG. It’s idiotic to expect any and every person who first starts playing this game to use a phone app so they do a legendary activity or even just a legend nightfall. Now if you move into the biggest problem - “The State of the Game” where Bungie just basically told us the money we spend on Destiny doesn’t go to Destiny. They basically said they have other games and use Destiny funding to develop those games - that correlates directly with their previous statements on purposely under delivering on content - that they do this intentionally to keep expectations down is utter BS and I think the root cause of all this. Little events like you speak of will not make anyone forget how scandalous this company has become.
-
A lot of people want Destiny not to fail but are just sick of watching Bungie do the level best to make it happen.
-
Anyone else have suggestions I'd love to hear from everyone!
Sony needs to do a complete overhaul because posting BS that they have their best working on certain things in this game when they have their best working on other projects that you are paying for is pretty damn messed up. I mean, when are they going to stop lying, better yet, when are the fans going to stop defending how much they lie that hasn't helped this game or the community one damn bit. Band-aids are not a solution, and besides that, you've gotten way more than enough band-aids from this business as it is, and yet to come 🤦♂️

The exotics week is a fantasy a lot of people have that even this community has always though would set the servers ablaze. It would be cool if it could be done and people would both come up with wacky things and there could actually also be some skill to it. Doing things like that during dead times as long as enough people can be shielded if they choose would also be a good way to accelerate people catching up on things they may have missed out on. Accelerated and fun catch-ups at the end of the season when everyone is whining will also balance that out with people saying screw that this was the only way I could get this.

Edited by SnakeEyes734: 11/6/2023 11:56:08 PMThey REALLY need to stop deleting all the content every year. THAT is what is slowly killing the game. *Less than a year for tons of content you pay for (100+ dollars now) to go away.....no thanks! Now try to convince your friends to do this, it's just not gonna happen

No amount of ideas is going to save this game when Bungie isn’t willing to dedicate the resources to it. They operated Destiny as a minimum viable product and now it’s finally caught up to them. The bare minimum would be playable servers - which have probably been having issues for at least 1/3 of the days the past year. I haven’t preordered and to be quite honest I don’t even know if I’ll buy The Final Shape at all. I’m playing other games and spending my money there. They might pull it together for The Final Shape and it might be a banger - or recent events might mean it’s another flop. All we know for sure is no matter what the game will once again fall back into the same manipulation tactics of gas lighting and a philosophy of “not over delivering” because it wasn’t Pete Parsons who lost his job. Nothing has changed with management so nothing is going to change with Destiny.
-
If Bungie turns this around, it only shows upper management that they can pull this stunt again and succeed. In order to set the standard, Bungie needs to fail tremendously. If you pay into this, its your choice. However, you are funding these awful practices.
-
Destiny crapped out from hubris. The players came out in force for years to ask them to not do the nonsensical things they did. They did them anyway, and now people like you suffer the consequences. The people who crapped on Destiny have golden parachutes. They get a vacation or new job hunt in luxury with your money. They already passed the potato to Sony, so some random Japanese guys get to deal with the fallout when Last-ish Shape sells near zero copies xD
-
🤦 The last thing a bunch of failing devs needs, is some complete novices best guess at what could save a multibillion dollar franchise. Sit down.
-
Honestly it’s too late in the game yo save it. They arnt going to bother making massive changes this close to the game being done

Edited by PK_Haseo: 11/7/2023 1:40:26 AMSame. We come soo far from a rocky launch (server issues) to a rewritten story line (no D3). “Bungie” needs us as much as we need them. ❤️ time to rebuild the word “trust”.

And add exclusive Loot to thing like Shattered Throne
-
They need to add World bosses like they did in early destiny 2 that dropped powerful end game pve weapons on Mars, need a new rarity like mythic along with having a exotic on as well, subscription based to bring more player base also a new tower for Sub players also a housing area like for clans in FFXIV, Halloween event can be a haunted mansion, Christmas can be the same as it is but maybe add some flair to it , maybe patrol zones have snow and ornaments and holiday special enemies World bosses.
-
Remove featured rotations, let me grind
-
🫵🏾🫵🏾🫵🏾🤡🤡🤡 Bungo needs to 🔥🔥🔥🔥
-
I would rather have some new PVP maps. And remove cheaters. That's all.
-
I can respect your opinion but I think, one, these are not that new of ideas and I don't think they would have the needed result with me as a player. I think they are aware of all the benefits of new guns, new armor, no modes to play. But to not make this a long post, I think people have said and i think they are right "we don't need simply more of D2." And for me personally and me alone, you need a new game and all that brings. I was a pvp main, and until there are nearly entirely new maps (they've neglected them for years when this and other games used to have 3 new ones a season.) Add to that I think what the game needs is new campaign, new patrol zones, new planets, new enemies, new collectables, new easter eggs, honestly, a differnent galaxy, fixing iron banner, good servers, new armor, weapons to chase. You only get ALL of those with an new game. My two cents. is though i respect your opinion what I need is a new game. And it's been like that for me for quite a long time.

I don't help they fail but JFC why are you trying to just kill it faster?
-
It is really easy to cheer for destiny and the creators to fail.
Forum logic 101 lol

It is hard the people that work at Bungie are not smart but have somehow found themselves in decision making roles. The good news is they have screwed up big and Sony may have to come in and clear the dead wood. The CEO and the rest of senior management are dead wood.
-
I agree and think your ideas are fun. I personally would like to see the game open up more in that old seasons could be purchased and played and you would still get the seasonal items. Season rank items and season store items and expansion items could go to eververse for purchase so players who missed items or new players wouldnt feel left out and everyone would have the gear they wanted. The vault would be MUCH bigger than it is now. All raids expansions and dungeons that have been taken away would come to stay. Also vendors would have all of their items as well so shaders ghost projections emblems etc are available. Id also like to see factions come back like Future War Cult and Dead Orbit. These are just some of my suggestions.
