Hello my fellow Destiny 2 Community members. It's extremally clear from the events from the past week that Bungie is indeed burning through Money and need cash. However can you recommend your friend to play? The answer would be No because you can not point them into a direction to start as the packs are super confusing over priced and make zero sense. Unless the packs are free for a weekend, on the PS Monthly pass or hell free on another store or discounted getting into Destiny is extremally difficult. Especially for people that are returning to the game. So what can Bungie do to lets say remove these issues. As bungie is a live service game and technically an MMORPG, Live services games cost money to keep running. From someone that works in IT I'm NOT going to bore you with costings but they are High and that's before you even start adding staff and marketing around it. So what is the solution? Well thinking about this with some friends this week and looking at other live services games and what they have to offer it may have been staring us in the face this entire time. Destiny needs to move away from the traditional DLC Drop, Episode Drop then everything is money and everything is money on top of it. Let's talk Subscriptions. Before a lot of you start going Boooo that would never work HERE ME OUT! Free to play = PVP, Strikes (a part from the DLC) Gambit and world exploration. New light quest (More can be added but lets give it take for now as a start) =============================================== Month = 9.99 + you get 600 Silver per month for retention So with the month you would get everything in the game apart from the latest DLC. This would then be a rolling subscription. =============================================== Full Episode = £24.99 + you get 1200 Silver per Month for retention So with the Full episode this would give you access to everything in the game apart from the latest DLC. This would then be a rolling subscription billed every 4 Months. ============================================== All Episode = £64.99 + you get 3400 Silver per Month for retention So with the all episode this would give you access to everything in the game apart from the latest DLC for the entire year. This would then be a rolling subscription billed every 12 Months. ============================================== Then you can buy the DLC for £39.99 as all the other content is technically billed monthly. however if you can't afford a huge cash drop all at once you could then move to a monthly + DLC Model. However if you do get the DLC you would only get the exclusives as these wouldn't be part of the monthly deals until after the end of the year when they move into the loot poll. The DLC would contain the Raid and Dungeon So if you get the x + DLC you get access to all this also. =============================================== Month + DLC = 19.99 + you get 1200 Silver per month for retention So with the month you would get everything in the game apart from the DLC exclusives. This would then be a rolling subscription. =============================================== Full Episode + DLC = £34.99 + you get 2400 Silver per Month for retention So with the Full episode this would give you would get everything in the game apart from the DLC exclusives.. This would then be a rolling subscription billed every 4 Months. ============================================== All Episode + DLC = £95.99 + you get 4200 Silver per Month for retention So with the all episode this would give you would get everything in the game apart from the DLC exclusives for the entire year. This would then be a rolling subscription billed every 12 Months. ============================================== Lets talk holiday events. I'm looking at you Dawning, Festival of the lost, Solecist and Guardian games. While having a pass to an event is perfectly acceptable having a holiday pass even that consists of a couple of cosmetics for a "Holiday bundle" is not value for money. This is where things will get controversial. If you are feeling the need to sell a holiday pass bag that pass up to the brim with the following: - Ascendant shards - Enhancement cores - Bright Dust - Deepsight Harmonizers - Enhancement Prisms - Armor Ornaments - Holiday weapons Sell this for £9.99 in the similar format to the battle pass but have it so its achievable and also so that it's enticing. We need to use KIS = Keep it Simple. the sooner that we do this with the pricing and move to something either like this or something better people are going to want to play more.
