During the Haunted Lost Sectors, the audio engine repeats various lines, such as the “Heads up” static voice line, or the “Don’t disappoint Neon Nerd” static voice line three or four times in the span a second and a half. I suspect that it’s being triggered on some event spawn, and there is no cooldown safety written into the code. Sometimes the voice line is overlapped before completion, and sometimes they play sequentially.
Players by design are able to spawn three Headless Ones nearly simultaneously if all three players take their plates at the same time. If the engine doesn’t recognize that the spawns took place within milliseconds of each other, that could lead to this observed behavior.
There is an actual bug here with the overlapping replay of the same voice lines within a extremely short amount of time. It may seem like a small oversight not to have a cooldown on voice lines, but it has a negative effect on the player experience.
