Hi all, I wanted to submit a concept idea to the devs but could only think of posting it here in hope they see it. anyway I present to you the Helm of Alpha Centauri:
Exotic:
Helm of Alpha Centauri:
Perk name:
Facula (Facula is a bright region of the surface of a star that is linked to the appearance of sunspots).
Description:
When you become Radiant, your solar weapons Scorch targets (can increase stacks with Ember of Ashes fragment).
When you kill a target with Consecration, you and nearby allies gain a small boost of energy to all abilities and Cure or Cure x2.
Inspiration:
The concept of this exotic armor piece was largely inspired by wanting to create a shift in playstyle from the generic “Synthos bonk and Lorely crutch” solar builds. The design is to provide the power fantasy that titans dream (being supportive but also a damage dealer/berserker role).
The inspiration for having both roles in one exotic draws from hunters Gyrfalcons Hauberk where I wanted to create essentially “Gyrfalcons but for titan”.
Armor Design:
Base ornament:
The armor aesthetic I had thought of going with the galaxy/space theme is an Astronaut themed helmet but inside the visor is a glowing star which has two almond shaped eyes but as sunspots.
Eververse ornament:
In keeping with the theme of galaxy and space theme, since a lot of items in space are named after Roman Gods. A Roman Praetorian guard helmet would be fitting for Titan where it has fire coming out of its eyes and the mohawk crest would have fire instead of the traditional hair.

U had me at Consecration. But instead of Cure, couldn’t it be Restoration instead? I feel like uninterrupted healing for a few seconds to allies is better than a set amount of health regen that could go away in a few hits.😐 It’s a good exotic idea tho, so I’ll bump it 😃

It sounds too good, op. I can already hear a Hunter or Warlock screeching for a nerf to a made-up fanfic Titan exotic. 😎
-
Nope. It would be too strong.

I always saw Solar Titans as people who want to set the world on fire. What if instead of cure it dropped a sunspot upon igniting a target?

Some cool ideas and naming conventions. To offer constructive feedback, I'd say the perk should probably stray from the already abundant amount of healing titan solar builds produce. Why use a weapon when a synthoceps melee can get you your healing even quicker (and with more damage and aoe with sunspots), ya know? I'd say try and invest in a perk that focuses on a different advantage of solar titan. You started good with picking out the radiant verb. How else could you tie it in with other abilities? Can it take a support role? What's the ideal use-case or playstyle for this exotic that another one doesn't do better?

Consecration is boring and I don't want another exotic for me to ignore
-
TLDR. How about - no.

Certainly an interesting concept.

Names a little too long, but definitely a solid idea! Any more?
