I have never had an issue with Destiny 2 crashing, but today I suddenly cannot open the game. When I launch the game on steam, it takes about 10 seconds before the game launches, then it crashes almost immediately.
I have tried the following things to troubleshoot: validated installation on steam, uninstalled and reinstalled on steam, updated graphics driver on nvidia, uninstalled Razer Cortex, uninstalled NordVPN, disabled in-game overlay from Discord and Nvidia, deleted C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Bungie\DestinyPC, and rebooted my PC several times.
After reading through all this, it seems like it is a no-brainer that it is a hardware issue, but I play every game on max settings with no issues. I have Nvidia GeForce 3090ti and i9 12900k, and 64GB DDR5 RAM.
On a whim, I tried installing the game via Epic Games Launcher, and I was able to launch and play the game with absolutely no issues. I tried reinstalling on steam once again and it still crashes after about 3 seconds on the initial splash screen. Obviously my PC is capable of handling the game if it launches on Epic. I really need some suggestions, as I have all DLCs on Steam and I refuse to pay money on DLCs I already own on Epic. Thanks in advanced.

I'm having this exact same issue, and neither of the fixes in this thread apply. I'm already opted out of steam betas, and under controller steam input is off. Game freezes immediately upon (delayed) launch.

Hello, I had the exact same issue. To fix it I went into the Destiny settings on steam, and under Controller, from the Drop-down, choose disable Steam input. Hope this helps!

Same issue. Game was working fine last night but haven't been able to launch it at all today. I'm getting a Batteye unable to update message then the game starts the loading screen and then crashes. My internet is fine for everything else. I turned off my VPN along with updating it, toggled my Firewall options and reinstalled my graphics drivers and finally I uninstalled and reinstalled the game but it is still not working. As far as I know Im not using any sort of Beta version of Steam. Any insight would be appreciated.

Edited by IngY: 10/6/2023 6:19:11 AMEDIT: Steam beta is the problem not destiny opt in beta (that does not exist). Go back to non beta steam and it will restart and you will be fine.
