With the current season under way seeing how we're supposed to be in a desperate race against time to find a way into the portal, I still don't feel anything towards the urgency of the situation. With how lightfall was said to play out as our own "infinity war" I was expecting a second collapse on par with Mass Effect 3's opening with the reapers attack. The pyramid ships descending on the last city, a returning reminder of the red war opening of the city falling, watching the vanguard and it's alliances in a desperate struggle to hold back the advancing forces, as the campaign stays close to home leaving us in a ruined last city as a patrol zone. Instead of new lack lustre characters who haven't been built up over the years I'd have love to of had key characters take part in this, seeing Amanda's sacrifice mean more in the campaign itself where she crashes her ship into a second traveller cage that callus intends on using to strip away our light once again. Ending with us coming face to face with the witness in the final mission, but he uses Callus to buy time so they aren't interrupted in carving the portal into the traveller, failing to stop the witness and leaving his ships behind in their wake. At the end of the campaign social area either returning to the farm or even putting a pyramid ship in the place the traveller once was as a looming battlefield was in constant swing as we go around the tower. Even with these changes I doubt the raid or seasons would change much aside from the actual air of desperation to stop the witness, as the black fleet would remain looming over the city, the first season being the same with rescuing prisoners, the next in searching for answers and now with the season of the witch going down this dangerous gamble with Eris would feel so much more weighted. I just can't help feel this sense of disappointment from both the campaign and lack of use from the Pyramid fleet itself, this looming threat that's been advancing on us for the past five years just dips out and doesn't really do anything special.
