So I'm told. I guess I'm lost on how that distinction was ever decided. Is there an interview or video where a developer designates strafe for pvp and triple for pve that I don't know about, or is it that over the years, the destiny community has gravitated towards these jumps in their respective activities due to the issues I outlined? If it is the first case, then although I would find it frustrating, I would 100% accept it as truth. If it is the second case, however, I am more inclined to think strafe jump's pve disadvantages are in some way unintentional. Maybe you know?

It’s the first you just mentioned. We have just learned what jumps are for what instances over time. For some pve activities base triple jump isn’t even gonna cut it and you’ll need stompees too. So it’s the most forgiving jump for hunters to make a difficult jump. In pvp you don’t need to have a forgiving jump and need more control, so strafe. You’ll see many use triple in pvp but you really shouldn’t be catching many good players not running strafe jump.
