I just did NINTEEN LOST SECTORS and got one exotic. NINETEEN. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. And it wasn't one of the easy two minute ones either. What a waste of time. FIX NEEDED
-
That sounds about right. Average one EXOTIC per 10 runs on Legendary.

Yah could've done like 2 Gms mate and still had a better chance of getting what you wante
-
-
I don’t think you know what drop protection means.
-
I remember doing 47 lost sectors to get Lorely for my Titan 🤔
-
I usually get exotics first try 3 maximum. Skill issue.
-
Running it on master difficulty helps. I get an exotic every 3-5 runs on master difficulty however I do totally agree with you that the drop rate is too low for legend difficulty for example.
-
No. If it’s guaranteed there’s no manic in it. Or make it a ton of runs. I’d say 100 lost sectors for a guaranteed exotic.
-
Personally, I wait until the loot I need is available at a reasonable lost sector. Bay of Drowned Wishes for example. Ten runs but got the Swarmers. Can't say it was fun though. Nothing in this game is really fun anymore.

I stopped doing Lost Sectors when the loot was added to the Vex Strike Force events on Neomuna. Too much effort with insufficient reward. I used the Asher Mir/vexnetassistant bot on Twitter as that notifies a few minutes before one starts.

Edited by jhermannITJ: 8/8/2023 11:06:22 AMI farmed 15 in a few hrs tonight (5 per character)... and this is typical, I do it at the end of every season, I always do it in one night. I farm them at different times too... at the beginning (I guess I'll give away a secret) to farm the seasonal redborders... great farm if you want to unlock the seasonal crafts asap. I use them to test efficacy with scaling too. I've been farming and manipulating the rng in this game since D1, there's rules: learn the LS rules. 1. Don't die... (It matters) 2. You CAN do skips... BUT only spawn cancel skips, meaning the enemies or champs don't spawn in or despawn... except I can't think of any current LS with a despawn skip. 3. Kill everything that spawned in before you open the chest - you can nuke boss early - but kill EVERTHING before you open the chest. 4. Let the at least the end mission timer expire & go to the results screen before leaving... this will help prevent input lag or "sync lag". Input Lag can rob you of loot for hrs if you're not paying attention... If you aren't getting anything from the chest... no cores, no purples, no seasonal engrams... you're probably bugged out. To fix this log out, exit your game... relaunch & log back in. It happened to me tonight actually after I switched to my 2nd character. Input Lag can happen anywhere too... if you remember Ketchcrash dealt with it for most of that season, many people were timing out before they got their loot. So, if ever... you feel like you're not getting drops... like none, just exit your game and log back in. I clear my cache too.. but that's not 100% required. I just noticed that some anomalies in this game seem to be more frequent when your cache hasn't been purged in awhile. LS rng isn't that bad on Legend or Master, the difficulty you choose should be based on a number of factors; like I'll use Exodus as an example... I can do Legend in 3-4mins per run without frustration OR 5-6/7 on Master sweatin'... everything teleports around that LS, the shotgun Dregs will blink behind you, above you... the Overloads bounce around everywhere. If you can't nuke those barrier servitors individually right before the forcefield... and they link up, it is madness. So, I run Legend normally when farming Exodus. Other LS's Master might be better... because I can do it almost as fast and there aren't a bunch of unpredictable pain points. Like Chamber of Stars... even with attrition I'll run it on Master. Even if it's significantly harder, if I can get in a flawless rhythm & my times are less than 50-75% more I usually farm masters. If not... Like Exodus because it can be so funky, Legend might be better. If you can't go flawless on Master, if it takes you double the time OR longer... you're better off grinding Legend LSs.

Why are you still running lost sectors when Vex Strike Force event exists?🤷♀️
-
This is a looter shooter, not a 2000s RPG with fixed stat gear in fixed locations, part of the fun is that loadouts and stats are pretty unique even among gardians with the same "builds"
-
I’m convinced time is a huge factor in the drop chances. Kill all champions, max out the score but do it as fast as possible. You want like <10minute run so be efficient throughout.my normal drop chances are 1/3.
-
I seem to get exotics 1 in 4 o average.. seriously, the most I've ever done without getting an exotic was 3 in a row.
-
Destiny severely needs a pity system. The fact you can grind out something countless times with nothing to show because drops are purely by chance is insane.
-
I’ve done LS for several years for 3 characters. Average number of runs for the exotic 3-6. Anyone who runs LS with regularity will get some extended runs it’s just the nature of RNG. More importantly pick a day in the LS rotation when it’s a LS you’re comfortable with. Overall it seems as fair as anything in this game.
