I keep hearing that all the negative feedback is just a vocal minority but honestly though who even has any positive feedback for bungie? It really seems more like the majority of the playerbase only has negative feedback. It always seems like some good turning point is just around the corner. Then months later here we are needing to be reminded that those changes came along in the stotg.
Stotg was written by joe who we know to be a real developer who cares for destiny. The way the article was made sounded to me like "we are working hard to make the game good but upper management wont allow us.". Just kept repeating that to make meaningful changes it would take resources away from the new upcoming stuff. Maybe cut down on the eververse team instead?
The removal of needing to do gambit was actually kinda good for gambit. No longer will you have useless teammates who is afk and not even trying bc theyre only there for pinnacle. Now the only ones who youll find in gambit are those who actually want to play gambit.
Next season is their big shake-up season to turn things around. Tbh tho its going to need to be really REALLY good. New seasonal model (so they say), hopefully the exotic tuning will address the worst parts of pvp(*cough* ant legs *cough*), the new zoom changes will make the whole sandbox feel better(leaving trace rifles to be special ammo autos with the same ttk), hopefully with the new ease of aquirering stasis the subclass will get a buff.
Next season isnt bungies make it or break it season. Its already broken and bungie is going to put the cracked pieces in a box and call it modern art.
Bungie just keeps getting new management giving us hope things will change but theyve all had the same exact goal. Making money rather than good live service updates. I wish there was just some rebellion within bungies dev team to do the things they know they must do. Not all or even most of them are simply money hungry. Its the management who wont allow them to work on anything that cant be directly monetized.
Honestly just delay marathon so they can focus more on keeping destiny alive if next season is unable to help the health of the game. Changes always feel either unnoticeable or really bad. We need more than 1 mid season update

The best feedback is playtime. People will play if they like something. If the verbal feedback is not supported by reducing playtime then it's just whining.

Edited by TheArtist: 8/4/2023 1:52:10 PMNo. It was reminding people that there are real-world constraints, and they can’t snap their fingers and instantly make things better. 1. They are allocating their resources to parts of the game that are more popular (and generate revenue). The PVP parts of this game are NEVER going to be anything more than they are right now. Because that part of the game is a money pit. Between not being able to charge for new content…and how much it costs to keep churning the sandbox and suppressing cheaters. 2. The pipeline is loaded months in advance. So making major changes is like trying to turn an aircraft carrier. It takes a lot of time and space to do it. 3. There is a major reveal stream coming up, and he wasn’t going to undermine that by covering topics that are going to be discussed there.

The SotG was Bungie mansplaining to the community why they can't create new things.

Bungie are repeating history with Halo.

That word is alway ironic when used. When it’s used it feels more like “the ones who don’t matter” and not the actual meaning. Most “minorities” make the actual majority. And actual minority are the ones who seem to think they hold status or have some kind of importance that in the end doesn’t mean anything. Odd world we live is.
