Legend Salvage; once doable, now everything one shots.
Grandmaster is supposed to be hard, but even with Lightblade it's ridiculous (hive knight shield ricochets better than actual sentinel shields from guardians!)
Tier 4 of Deep Dives? Dude good luck, everything one shots even harder, even at 100 RESILIANCE. I'm glad I got Tier 7 done before this strange "everything hits harder" patch was shadowed into the game. Let's not even go on the subject of the last boss of Ghosts of the Deep literally being able to 3-4 shot you with no misses even if you're actively moving.
This is NOT Dark Souls or Elden Ring; yes, some difficulty is nice because the rewards are (kinda) worth it. But for things that should be doable and NOT at Master+ difficulty? That's just asking for us to find better games. Not everyone wants to tear out hair at LEGEND DIFFICULTY. 10% wanted everything harder, but 90% just wants to enjoy the game. Seriously.

Uh oh, this thread may ruffle some elitist feathers 😂

Needs to be a toggle switch for difficulty. I don’t have an issue with difficulty on the game but when considering the population as a whole, I can sympathize here. And yes, the rewards don’t justify the difficulty lol
-
My main gripe so far just pertains to how bosses in endgame activities have been turned back into bullet sponges. Like, I don’t care if I have to jump through flaming hoops, win a high stakes dice roll and get gbanged by 7 Barrier Knights just to do one damage phase on a Dungeon Boss. But if I have a constant stream of Heavy and a plethora of dps options to choose from, I shouldn’t have to go through hours of phases when doing everything right, given that that time isn’t prolonged by game bugs that have been around for several seasons unfixed or an occasional error code because the server connection crapped itself. The moment that Dungeon Bosses become harder to kill in a solo instance than a Raid Boss with a group of six with suboptimal builds speaks for itself, nevermind how much weaker our builds and various tools have been made.

It all started with the useless people at Bungie who turned Neptune into a Master patrol area lol They are useless

Edited by Demoniser: 7/29/2023 11:35:02 PMDropped into Neomuna for the first time in weeks and got immediately one shot by a Thresher. Good times! And it also has the WORST Lost Sector in the game. Absolute waste of time.

Edited by TheShadow: 7/30/2023 11:03:17 PM
Alright, this Difficulty to Destiny 2 stuff is ruining the game.
No, it's this business not knowing WTH they are doing that has already ruined this game. It's why none of the original Bungie devs that actually mattered work for them anymore, and why Activision dropped them as well. This business doesn't have the slightest clue how to design an actual game because they have this lame mindset of, let's just throw this in there and see if it works. Like really, WTH is wrong with them? This game is so screwed up it's comical that they even made it this far 😄🤦♂️

... Did I miss something? What patch and how long ago was this? I was faffing around Neomuna last night trying out some Turnabout rolls I had and was doing pretty average on 90 Res + the usual chest resist mods (Concussive + Solar and Arc resist). Farmed Neomuna last week for the final red borders and yeah it was pain but I wasn't 1-shot either, I play with about 120FPS on PC as well so that typically means I'm taking a bit more damage occasionally.

This game is not that hard bro, run a good build google, youtube, not hard

Are you ok? I hate to break it to you, but nothing has been changed in the game’s difficulty. Put together a decent build and approach combat more thoughtfully. Gone are the old days of “equip exotic weapon and armor to reach maximum buildcraft” lol.
-
This direction has completely killed my interest in the game. Yes, it’s a lot harder. But, the rewards are terrible, and the experience is unenjoyable. If I don’t like it, then I don’t really have anything to achieve. I guess I’m just hero-legend player. Cool? All this time I’ve spent on this game and I don’t want to be a master or GM player. It’s not enjoyable.

Lost sectors are completely insane btw. It's incredible that a person with a developed brain decided that they are OK the way they are now. Actually unbealivable...
-
How does one “get one shot even harder?”
-
This has to be satire lol
-
There was no shadow patch ..... You probably got carried without realizing it and got a weird confidence boost that went crashing when you tried again with weaker players
-
Bungie: *Only caters exclusively to the most toxic -blam!- in their community who are only happy if no one else is.Look. You know, they tried catering to the players who want everything to be hard and unpleasant.
-
You guys need to git gud

Seasoned players leave and are replaced with new players attracted to the changing model of the game. I think this seems evident. It also creates a clash of interests.

Lightblade is definitely the hardest traditional Strike in the Nightfall rotation, and it's up there in the overall rankings. Compare that to ones like SABER and Warden of Nothing, which are sub-15 minute cakewalks for the typical team. Your Resilience tier is only one part of the survivability equation. One of the most common things I see is people using reserve mods on chest armour. They're good for swapping to before rallying, but the slots should almost permanently be occupied by resistance mods. Each one is a stacking 15% reduction to that damage type and are more than worth the cost. Then you often need to add subclass verbs in; if you're not making use of the likes of Void Overshield, Woven Mail and Restoration then you really should be. Alternatively, have some form of CC - Blind, Suppress, Freeze, Suspend. Every subclass has tools for survivability at its disposal. I don't think that the difficulty levels are perfect, but the old system had just as many flaws. Legend and below was meaningless and you could waltz through it without caring what gear you use or what Champions and shields the activity had. The jump to Master was huge, and it was less accessible than GM because of the higher level recommendation. The current system makes the gaps a lot smaller, and enforced level caps mean there's no need to grind to be at-level for such content.
-
Difficulty was perfected in the revision zero exotic quest, then they turned that -blam!- all the way up for no reason. Now the usual legendary activities are insanely and unnecessarily hard.
-
It’s improving it
-
Then don't play it. There's nothing more laughable than people raging over a video game. And no, Bloodsouls and Elden Ring aren't difficult - they just require patience. Hagane was a difficult game...
-
I am fine with them making the game more difficult but the way they’re doing it is not fun. They need to do two things to make it fun imo. 1. Increase the loot drops. Legend mode needs to drop 3 chests worth of loot. I am not going to do hard content for only double drops of regular loot when I can do two normal runs faster. 2). Mechanical difficulty (modifiers, mechanics, and challenges) over artificial difficulty (tanky adds, less player health, and add spam). Raid and dungeon style mechanics are what I think have a good balance of difficulty and challenge. Tanky adds and combat endurance just make the game a slog fest and slow for no reason, and just flat out boring.
-
Just get rid of garbage modifiers like chaff and Arach-No

Legend salvage hasn’t changed a single bit. And gms have never been easier, lightblade is the only semi difficult one this season. A good team and a good build and you can clear it with ease, kinda what youre suppose to do with harder activities no? I agree with deepdives tho they are way over tuned and you shouldn’t have to rely on luck to get the easy to do encounters. However there was no secret “everything hits harder” update or anything of the sorts that just sounds like Reddit conspiracy, it’s been the same since tier 7 first dropped. Gotd is indeed hard and makes it all the better when you finally beat it. A good team can still 2phase or maybe one phase both bosses. Solo you can beat them in 3-4 phases with a good loadout. I have also never been 3-4 shot by the boss wizard that just sounds like you have no resists or res. Personally I think it’s fine.
