Necrocasm Rework

With rumors of Crota coming back, theres no doubt in my mind if it happens Necrocasm will make a return. If brought back in its D1 state it will be used the same amount as Queenbreakers Bow. Aka, it wont be. So heres my idea for a rework that i feel sounds spicy. Let me know. First step is to change that exotic perk. Cursed Thrall explosions are cool, but that's basically just a firefly. Not worth an exotic slot for sure. Change it to this. "Precision hits gives the target a stacking debuff. When defeated they erupt with a radius and damaged based on the amount of stacks." This will allow it to still retain how people think of the gun, but with a lot more power and oomph. Catalyst will be "Targets being hit by an eruption retain stacks based on the stack amount of the explosion." Along with "Reaching max stacks causes the target to erupt regardless of being defeated or not" These perks will allow AoE to contend with others and also allow you to use the weapon for majors and slight dps in a pinch. What do yall think? Update: Perk for the catalyst could either cause a full explosion at max stacks OR "while at max stacks adding further stacks causes it to overload and send out small shockwaves until the target is defeated." So basically an exotic version of kinetic tremors which will add stacks like normal. Guess it depends if people would prefer just the big explosion or a bunch of little ones while the target retains the max amount . 🤷‍♂️

  • The main issue for necrocasm coming back is that the archetype of auto that it was in D1 no longer exists due to smgs becoming a thing in D2 meaning that it would either not feel the same or be changed to an smg, possibly with a custom model, but they may also just make a new exotic for crota because that may just be simpler

    • Honestly Necrochasms current exotic perk could just be all the Crota legendaries origin perk. I like the imagination but I feel like it needs a heftier rework. Touch of Malice falls behind because it remains too loyal to its original and honestly unhelpful usage.

        • Crotas end coming back before wrath of the machine would be the absolute fastest way to get me to log out and not play at all until final shape and then being done regardless. With absolutely no disrespect to you I hope whoever you heard saying it's coming back soon is completely wrong

              • What if it was like an actual Necromancer gun? Killing enemies or shooting their corpses raise a cursed thrall at it's location that seeks out and explodes on an enemy.

                • I posted something similar awhile ago. Normal cursed thrall explosion behavior, but it builds up a charge that increases its rpm and gives it infinite ammo during the charge duration. Rapid hits will trigger cursed thrall explosions during this overcharge.

                  • I think the cursed thrall explosion could stay especially after they buffed it. After the buff it activated on kill rather than precision kills. Though it should get a second perk I'm pretty sure instead of a second exotic perk it had two legendary perks which they could go with but I'd rather some unique strong exotic perk than just slapping two legendary ones and calling it a day.

                      • That’s true for 90% of exotics, and this percentages only grows with time. Point is, there are more toys than actual content. We don’t need more toys to kill the same adds. We want to use our builds on new, fresh, creative, engaging, quality content.

                        • Turn it into a summoners weapon, after a precision kill launch an army or cursed thrall at the next enemy you shoot!!! Time for this game to get cool and nuts this gaming as a job bs has to end. Just make the game and everything in it nuts, make it fun.
