New Players are Lost in DLC's and Dungeon Key structure
As a new player who wants to get a taste of what Destiny 2 has to offer (before Bungie stops releasing updates to the game after 2024) i really struggled to understand how and where i should go to progress my character. And this is coming from someone who plays games like 6-8h a day, and touched pretty much all AAA games out there.
Then after i decided i wanted to commit myself to this game for at least a week or two to experience all the activities, like trials, gambit, competitive, crucible, raids, and dungeons, it has become really tedious to find out exactly what DLC or package to buy. Currently, i have bought lightfall as this is the newest DLC so i figured this would be the best first step towards discovering the game.
i wanted to buy the legacy pack for the old dungeons and raids...
BUT TO FIND OUT EVENTUALLY THAT FOR EVERY DUNGEON I NEED TO BUY A DUNGEON KEY WHICH IS SEPARATE OF THE DLC KEY IS JUST INSANE
The new amount of players simply turning their back on this game due to the unclear structure of what to buy for what content is insanely high i think. Just sell a bigger package of the new DLC, so for example Lightfall, in 3 different versions. 1) Lightfall + anual pass + dg key 2) Lightfall + dg key + one season battle pass 3) Lightfall no pass no dg key
I really hope that instead of focusing on the Eververse store bungie will try to redesign their DLC/upgrades structure so it is more intuitive and clear for new players what their purchase will allow them to play. Currently it feels that no matter what you buy, you will always be missing out..
