I've been thinking a lot about the state of Destiny's future lately, and given the constant bugs and server issues, Marathon likely taking a chunk out of Destiny's PvP, Starfield (if it lives up to it's expectations) possibly taking a chunk out of Destiny's PvE, and Final Shape being the "end" of Destiny's current story, I'm curious to know how others feel about it. Part of me is genuinely worried that Destiny will see a drop off similar to how the MCU dropped off after Endgame.
If you do plan on leaving, I'd be curious to know the main factors driving you away and what it would take on Bungie's end, if anything, to persuade your otherwise.
If you plan on staying, I would also be curious to know what you're reasonings are behind that.
As for myself, I'm at least staying until Final Shape. After that ... we'll see. I've already been playing less since Jedi: Survivor, and I have other games I'd like to get back into and finish up.

The plan is to get the regular final shape version, enjoy some new aspects, supers and weapons but then I'm kinda just quitting. I think a lot of people will do the same and Bungie will lose a lot of players with this expansion.
-
Oh yeah, it’s obvious Bungie doesn’t care about their game and is putting Destiny on the side burner for marathon and at this rate I feel robbed
-
I will probably leave because they are getting more lazy as the seasons go on. I mean why would they not Ppl are buying every single emote/armor set/ornament that they throw in the eververse, even seen multiple level 100 on day 1 of the season because ppl buy the season ranks. I can't tell someone else how to spend their money tho so they do them. But it aint helping the state of the game. To me This current season felt dead 2nd day in after 1 salvage and 1 deep dive I cant describe just how bad the game has gotten over the years like there is seriously nothing to do. Most pve things they make have no replayability anymore like raids, once you have the patterns/triumphs whatever ppl are going for its over. Gambit/crucible well you know.....
-
I’ve left before the final shape.
-
Mis guided vision(s) for the game, the Bungie effect, technical issues, gameplay adjustments, player culture
-
I allready left. I will watch the 5 dlc cutscenes on youtube.
-
Yes, I'm done with Bungie products ... never again.
-
You missed the I already quit option.🤣🤣
-
I'll be leaving in September, when Starfield launches.
-
Already left. Running Linux as my OS so I can't even play Destiny.
-
I have already left this crap.
-
Not spending another dollar on this game
-
Really depends on what happens with the game. If they open things up and offer old content and items while keeping things fresh and updated then I’d stay. Honestly in my opinion the best thing they could do is to bring back all old content with rewards ( Expansions, Raids, Dungeons, All seasons) and open up all items in the eververse store. Keep the content updated securely and from that point forward make content that is made with quality instead of quantity. If they had 2 seasons a year instead of 4 they could focus on events like Guardian Games and Festival of Lost really good so that player still have fun content to play while fixing PVP of course for those who enjoy it. It would keep old players. Bring in new players and Bungie could run simple updates and keep the train moving and for them money flowing.

Edited by ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ: 6/15/2023 4:19:30 PMI’m not sure I’ll purchase anything from the Final Shape, tbh. Lightfall so far, is truly a 4 month disappointment.
-
BUNGIE ALREADY LEFT. Lol
-
I’m going to drop gaming in general after final shape. I don’t enjoy playing anything anymore but I have to see how d2 ends before I get rid of everything and find a new hobby for myself

I've left before then. Does that count?

Edited by Tippstir91: 6/16/2023 7:24:21 PMPlan is to wait a month and see what the l reviews say. First time in Destiny’s franchise history I’m personally not preordering anything at all to do with a releasing xpac/dlc and just wait and see. If it continues at the rate it’s at, no need for me to finish it out first hand, I’ll just watch YouTube videos on how the story ends and call it a day :)

Willing to bet a lot of people who voted yes are still gonna be here 😂
-
Although I am curious what Bungie is going to do with their IP after The Final Shape, I am intrigued by Starfield with the possibility that it could be my new “escape.”
-
Do you think there will be a D2 after the final shape? It is no accident that the game was stretched out an extra year to allow Marathon to be completed and ready to launch at the end of this game.
-
It depends, if the game keeps going the way it is, then yes. But if they can turn it around id always keep playing.
-
I might stay I might leave, at this rate the quality of the game has been slowly and slowly going down, and I feel like in the most recent dlc it has been way more noticeable, whilst I love playing this game at the same time its beginning to come to the point where for example Ghosts of the Deep is just giving me more reasons to leave than stay, but at the same time a lot of my friends have recently gotten into the game and so I have been teaching them raids and so that has given me a reason to stay. I feel like I most likely will stay but as of currently I am leaning to leaving than staying.
-
Considering I still play destiny 1, nah. Destiny is just too fun to play, no other game like it

Edited by Sunburn Seastar: 6/16/2023 11:37:49 AMI can’t say yes or no yet because I’m on the fence, I still largely enjoy this game but if it becomes apparent that Bungie plans to siphon the vast majority of destiny’s resources and give it to marathon, and if Bungie cannot properly allocate resources to 2 games (especially one that has background support from Sony, marathon) and continues to leave descent portions of destiny 2 in disrepair then I’m done.
