I swear to god if I get Twilight Gap again, the second worst map after Convergence (and maybe Conjunction) I'll lose my mind. Why force us to play in a map rotation? Why can't we just pick the maps we want to play on, like any other PvP game? I hear your cries, before you say that "it splits up the pvp population" no it doesn't. The maps are objectively bad in this game and nobody, I repeat, NOBODY wants to play on Conjunction or Twilight Gap. The maps are terrribly designed, clustered. Why can't they just make maps like Jav4, the best map in the game? Clean, simple.
-
Dude, I love twilight gap and convergence 🙁
-
Because ANYONE can play pvp, there's ZERO barrier of entry. Y'all pvp people seem to forget that Destiny is a PVE game first, PVP game last. PVP has always been a hot mess because you all can't agree on anything. Connection based matchmaking? Complain. Skill based matchmaking? More complaining. How about we just go back to the way Trials used to be; No community voting. It's random every weekend. Even better. The rotation favors newer maps more than older maps to get more player data on said maps :^)
-
a simple map vote at the end of a match would not only help prevent staleness of map repetition, but also provide a reason to stay in the lobby potentially decreasing matchmaking times
-
Did I dream this, is Clovis Bray back?
-
Conjunction is the worst map they ever created. Most of the matches I play on it don’t have the winning team reach 150. Closely followed by Twighlight Pap and Exodus Blah.
-
If you let players choose you know you'll get teams that purposely troll the enemy team by voting for the worst map or the map they accel at. I've seen this happen in COD.

Edited by Smity Werbenjagermanjensen: 6/1/2023 4:44:49 AMIdeally, Blacklist: Disjunction, Midtown, Bannerfall, Vostok Favored: Burnout, Jav 4, Meltdown, Dead Cliffs, Wormhaven And yet, I get Disjunction, Midtown and Bannerfall every other map it feels like
-
But then disjunction would never be played. & while the community would see as a win, Bungie would see that as a L. If you have put out one new map in over 4 years and its not even played it would look really bad. Hence why its forced and was previously weighted in the map rotation.

Edited by Tru-Zrue: 6/1/2023 9:17:07 AMI’ve had this same idea for years, not sure if any game has done this but…what if you could select your favorite maps, game modes, and matchmake type a when you’re in the queue the game factors in those parameters? No more forced sbmm or cbmm, no more disjunction, no more whatever game mode you hate. Just deselect the maps/game modes you hate and you’ll never see them again. Cod is 1/4 of the way there (map selection missing).
-
Disjunction would literally never be played by anyone again
-
Unfortunately, that would require a healthy player base for PvP... which Destiny does not have. And unless they make drastic changes (which, imo, I doubt they will ever do), the hemorrhaging of PvP players continues.
-
I don't understand why they don't give us a 24/7 burning shrine Playlist with multiple modes. Like shipment 24/7

I was playing Comp yesterday to see about another roll for the sniper and I was so shell-shocked to see the map was MELTDOWN. I wasn't even aware it was back in the game. Hadn't seen it in any of this round of Iron Banner, or in qp/comp for the last couple months. But I was so elated, it was fresh to me and brought some silly memories from the Gnawing Hunger/Hard Light meta and the only pain-point was the fact it was a match of Rift, and I was down a teammate for a 2v3. I understand that if map voting was implement, it would mess with the matchmaking with our already dwindling population of pvpers and some maps wouldn't be played at all, but that isn't really the players' fault, is it? The same maps for years, false promises towards pvp, etc. I wanted to try playing for Meltdown again today, but servers were out, so, eh.
-
Map voting is very hard to implement 😂
-
They won't do it because they don't want to make new maps and their ego is so freaking huge they won't listen to any negative feedback because they are always right and successful in their own minds
-
If they do that, they'd need to set the map in the background first, then fill the lobby with players. You're gonna end up increasing your wait times the more maps you exclude. It wouldn't work the other way around. You'd eventually end up with a group of 12 that between them none of the maps could be played.
-
I'm fine playing on those.
-
Upvoted for blacklist of 3-4 maps.
-
Edited by Grim: 6/1/2023 3:40:41 AMDude its terrible, I've been stuck playing the same 3 maps on a rotation Its so bad I didn't even know that they brought back the old meltdown map this season till I saw Ifrostbolt playing on it.
-
No one does this anymore because it would hurt someone's feeling to know their map is hated by overwhelming statistics showing no one played them. Nah, that's probably not true, but it sounds good enough for the internet doesn't it?
-
Didn't Halo have a vote system? Why not here?
-
I quit every time I get Burnout.
-
I don’t mind Twilight Gap or Disjunction so you’re wrong.
-
My favorite maps are Disjunction, Twilight Gap, and Felwinter Peak.
-
If we had the option to blacklist maps PvP would die because their wouldn't be any maps left 🤣
-
They rather ban you for leaving their shi tty maps
