I dunno where to put this. Throwing some thoughts out in the vain,vain hope that something changes. It won't. But it doesn't hurt to try. Can we talk about Sole Survivor? Or I guess just the new Reckoning weapons in general? This thing used to be my favorite sniper in the game, back when Reckoning was a thing. PvP, PvE, didn't matter, it could really do well whatever situation you put it in. I especially loved it in PvP, as an alternative to the Beloved meta that came with Opulence. With Snapshot, Opening shot, Fourth times and Firing line, I had a really good time. Then sunsetting happened. And that sucked. So I waited, for the day when my prayers would be answered, and the reckoning weapons would be reissued. For 3 1/2 years. And then it happened! Finally, my best bud was comin back. But the new comp weapon was also an adaptive arc sniper. Surely they would make it somewhat competitive, right? I could not have been more excited. Until I saw those stats, and the perk pool. And what a perk pool it is. Man, what happened? Taking away Triple tap, Fourth times, Opening shot, Autoloading, and Demolitionist in exchange for..... Lead from gold? Eye of the storm? Outlaw? This new wish.com version of Perpetual motion? Snipers are already garbage in PvE - why does Sole Survivor need to be somehow more garbage? To add pvp insult to pve injury, the new comp sniper is quite literally better in every possible way. Same zoom, same archetype, but Mercurial Overreach has 10-20 points more in almost every stat. On top of that, not only does it have all of the best PvP sniper perks, it can also refund ammo via the new Discord - where Sole survivor lost all of that. Which, given that was it's biggest selling point back in the day, kinda really sucks. Being blunt here; after waiting 3+ years for new Reckoning weapons and knowing this is probably the only time we're ever going to see them again, this is depressing as hell. I realize nobody else probably cares, but this was like, the one thing I have been holding out for. Talk about killing the vibe. Seeing the Reckoning weapons come back - I have never gone from so excited to so completely disinterested in Destiny before. And it's not just the sniper, I feel like this is the case with all of the reissues this season. They've all gone from being something awesome to being completely not worth the time. And it sucks.
