Player Models aren’t loading during Crucible matches.
Hi. I’m here to report on something that happened to me just a couple hours ago.
I was playing like normal with a friend: after clearing a couple Nightfalls with no issues, we hopped into a Control match on Burnout. I noticed I couldn’t see my own hands, and upon using an emote, I realized it was my entire player model that wasn’t loading into the game. The model did not load during the whole match.
My own weapon model did load, and, initially, so did my enemies’ and my teammates’ models. But during our second match on Cathedral of Dusk, the exact opposite started to happen: now I couldn’t see any player models except for mine. I couldn’t see enemies nor allies: all I saw was their names and the default loading silhouette. And just like last time, they never loaded: not even in the commendation screen. Their health bars still worked properly, so I could tell friend from foe, but it was also really off-putting.
For the sake of testing, my friend and I hopped into a private Rumble game. Same thing happened: I could see his player model, but not mine.
I started thinking that maybe my console was getting too old (I play on an old PS4 and my friend plays on a PS5), but then my friend pointed out that this only seemed to be happening in Crucible, not in Gambit nor Nightfalls, which we had played earlier.
Hope this helps to solve it soon.
