First of all, i want to commend the dev team for trying to come up with something new. You made an effort and it hasn't paid off, but at least you tried to spice this event up with a unique twist.
However, that's all the credit i can give. Because you chose to let people go for the Reveler title for an entire year, only to bind the final title needed to what i can only describe as the most unbalanced game mode in D2s history, somehow surpassing even CBMM Iron Banner Eruption.
I've played over 50 games of Supremacy over these Guardian Games. A singular match had a scoreline with less than 10 points difference. Three games managed to have a difference of less than 50 points. From my last 20 games, only my very last match got within 80 points difference exactly, at a final score of 72:152.
You see what the problem is here? Your lobbies are so unbalanced and so frequently start out with an uneven number of players, that the average score ratio in my games is ABOVE 3:1. Literally the last 20 games i played every single time featured a scoreline of over 80 points vs under 30 points. It makes the wins feel sort of boring as you stomp 3-4 guardians respawning helplessly into a zerg rush and it makes the defeats even more aggravating when you just get bulldozed and can't ever push to secure a crest.
In a way i am thankful for this mode's existence. Please, do go through the data. Let it prove once and for all why connection based matchmaking needs to die a fiery death. Not that it even works properly at all, considering i'm sitting in Germany and two thirds of my lobbies feature russian, chinese and japanese player names. But even when everyone isn't lagging out, the games are so horribly unbalanced and they are so CONSISTENTLY horribly unbalanced that it makes me not want to play any more than i have to for my GG triumphs.
Are people especially on the higher end of the ladder going to cry if you force SBMM on every mode? Absolutely. Should you do it regardless? Absolutely too. Noone wants to play modes where you can see the winner within 3 minutes because they are more than double the points ahead anyway.
Oh and while we're at that, please please please stop being allergic to mercy rules. I'm not saying you can prevent people from leaving lobbies, but if a match is a 2v6 and the scoreline goes to 3 points vs 108 points, MAYBE Shaxx should be calling that one. The other team literally couldn't even spawn camp us hard enough to get their 150 crests assembled in the 10 minute match duration. Just have realistic mercy rules in place and SBMM to make sure blowouts happen less.
If we define a blowout by a >2:1 scoring ratio, my guardian games experience both when winning and losing has been above a 95% blowout ratio. As i said, i don't think a more premium argument for SBMM could have ever been crafted. Please take your data to heart and act on it.
But actually lets turn this into a poll. How does everyone else feel about CBMM and the Supremacy playlist? Maybe me seeing consistent blowouts for over 50 games in a row is an outlier?
