"Meta" is just a excuse to use what others tell you to use because "it's good" or you see others have success with it.
We are all different with different play styles so use what works for you not what others say you have to use.
In fact 90% of "neef this" is due to players not liking certain items or abilities than the fact they are overpowered.

The Immortal along with Ikelos and Tarrabah need the adjustment. Too much bang for your buck. With that said, I don't care about any of that. We are talking about how the landscape of the game has changed and how people play it collectively since. And sure, other things are viable and you should play how you enjoy it, but the reality is, statistically people use things more than others. This will dictate how they choose to engage certain maps. It's not as enjoyable an experience when your team doesn't move forward. When you're forever trapped in your spawn by people anchoring you there. And at certain levels, everyone uses that Sub to compete in the midrange or they stand in the back.
