Name changed but I didn’t change it.
Logged in today to find out my name had changed to guardian whatever, but I didn’t change it. I’m not sure what happened. I’ve been playing this game for a long time and have only changed my name the one time after crossplay and that was it. I don’t know how it changed. Can bungie help me get my name back and find out how and when my name was changed?

Bungie used your name change for you because your name was likely deemed inappropriate. It's a lazy system as opposed to others that just require you change your name yourself.
