I am making this post in advance, before the GMs are released, but i personally think it's unlikely that it will be changed in any way until the next season at least. Bungie added a new way to earn Adept weapons in GMs, that being the Nightfall Ciphers. (As stated in the Economy Update [url=https://www.bungie.net/7/en/News/article/season-20-legacy-focusing]here[/url]) You can focus the current week's weapon with 10 Nightfall Ciphers. You earn 2 per plat run, so it takes 5 GM runs to get one more drop. I personally never expected to be showered in loot, so although some players may think that this is a bit too low, it's not my biggest gripe with the system. The biggest pain point here in my opinion is the current cap on Nightfall Ciphers. It's 10 max in Inventory, as we can see in the Destiny API. We don't know whether they go to the postmaster or not yet. With the cap of 10, i dont think this implementation adresses any of the feedback that was given by players in the past few seasons. People arent expecting more loot from Grandmasters (We get enough of it already, guaranteed Adept on a Plat completion, Shards, Prisms, even more of it on double weeks). People were mainly complaining about the gun being in rotation once per 3 months. That situation being even worse if real life gets in the way, or if the strike the gun falls on is not very enjoyable. (Horror's Least, anyone?) So here are some changes that could be done to the system to make it make sense, because as it is currently, it doesn't do much in my opinion besides giving you one more drop per 5 runs. Or a single focus of a gun that you actually want right off the bat and then you have to do the week's GM anyway 1) Remove the cap on the Ciphers completely, or at least increase it (Unlikely, as we aren't supposed to prefarm on easy GMs) 2) Have all weapons be avaliable for focusing all the time (Also unlikely, as you would be able to farm easy ones) 3) Have all weapons be avaliable for focusing all the time, but the current week requires less Ciphers (Would need some ratio adjustments) With all that being said, do you also expect any changes to be made to the GM launch system? With next season and no power level increase at all, it would make sense for GMs to start earlier as you only need +5 on artifact.
