Could The Witness be using an avatar or alternate form to hide it's true appearance?
In the cutscene where The Witness yells at Calus, a large shadow goes over him and he looks upwards in terror as it says "Secure the veil. We will create the link."
Additionally, The Witness' voice sounds a little different.
What are your thoughts on this?

Show once and for all the Traveler is a lie 2. Feed us the info that led us to kill both Calus and Nezerac, the last 2 of the Witnesses horseman... remember when that happened, we were losing... couldn't get to Calus, he was always one step ahead... Savathun showed us why, our ghosts are spys... the Traveler and the Witness know everything... that's why the Witness tried to take our ghost at the end, to try and figure out how we got to Calus after Savathun skyped us is to a 3 way call with us secretly listening. It's why she faked her death too... otherwise the Witness would know. It, the Witness has been suppressing the forces that balance light and dark with its invention... the Traveler and his Disciples, but now they're dead... Its accelerating its plan for the Final Shape... There never was any light in our endless night, but now the Witness can't suppress the light any longer, and the pheonix of the 9's prophecy will rise once the Vanguard falls. During the campaign... after fighting with Caital, it wants you to go underground through the hole, but you don't have to. If you go into that room, there is a mural that shows everything I'm saying. The Witness winning... traveler by its side, and the God of Light... rising from its oblivion like a phoenix above the witness. The clue to who I think it is... is at the very bottom of that same mural. Somebody directly connected to that lady. The lady is Maya Sundaresh. That lady Madonna... "Mother"... it will be one of her children OR the god she created to kill other gods. We already know his name. He WAS the 1st Exo. He was also the love of her life... They were willing to sacrifice everything they had to save people and a Universe that doesn't even know it is in bondage. They both died for us... now one might be coming back to help us finally be introduced to the Light. However, bill is finally due... the costs will be great... total. It will cost us Everything. We are not prepared.

2 RepliesThe Witness was definitely angry enough to show its true form to Calus if thats what it was. Also, during that cutscene, Calus starts bleeding from the head after the Witness yells at him, maybe he uses that avatar so it doesn't kill his disciples? Just a thought

If the witness is anything like bungie is trying to build up on then it probably will have some greater form in the final shape. Probably what we've seen so far is not an avatar but maybe like a false image that the witness is showing us cause the witness is technically formless it did have the guardians form back in shadowkeep remember. So maybe it would make sense that the form he is taking right now is likely a distorted image and he is seemingly keeping that shape to keep up appearances and many the form the witness showed calus was its true form unleashed by anger when calus kept pestering him.
