After finishing lightfall’s, I thought I had a good concept of the story and everything going on. The witness wanted to enter the traveler to complete the final shape. They realized the only means of access was via the veil on Neptune, in which they sent clays to secure it for the witness. We go the Neptune to stop this form happening, by getting help form the cloud striders and Caiatl’s cabal, in which both parties give context as to why the veil needs to be protect and Calus needs to be stopped. We also discover strand during this time, which is a darkness subclass based on seeing the threads of the universe. Osiris helps us master strand, by working with it, rather than using it. With the help of our Allies and our new powers, we stop calus from securing the veil for the witness, but fail to prevent the witness from using it. They, they make a portal onto the traveler and enter it. Other important details about the story consist of the importance of the veil to neomuna (being that it’s a source of power for the city), the radial mast (an artifact of the light that provides a link to the veil and the traveler), and the return of Nezarec, (Which I believe has been saved primarily for the raid). I know these may seem like after thoughts that I put here, but they are important to the run down I just gave. I also thought exotic machine gun mission that was released, gave a bit more context to what the veil was, with the black heart in the black garden being a failed version of it the vex made not long before we destroyed it. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m still a bit fuzzy on a few things but I thought that the general story line was made clear through the cutscenes and dialogue. If this is the same level of certainty that you have in the lightfall story, or if you were confused on anything bright up here, please let me know. I thigh the story was alright for a dlc that’s a preamble to the last story beat of destiny’s light and darkness saga, but I also get the disappointment and confusion.
