I am French and I am playing the game in English so never heard the game in French and its a bit too late for me to go back and watch older dialogue lol. I know Nimbus uses the pronouns They/Them but we can't simply switch it in other languages sometimes as the grammar is also either masculine or feminine and I was wondering how Destiny 2 made it work?
As for French, people have created the pronoun iel, which is a mix between il (he) and elle (she) for NB folks.. but the thing is adjectives changes depending on which one you use.. so are adjectives and other words put in feminine form or masculine form when you talk about someone who is NB.. I am a native French speaker and I have no idea :P Any other languages who uses a similar grammar system is welcome to help me out xD
Ex for French:
He is happy = Il est content
She is happy = Elle est contente
They are happy = Iel est ???
tldr... how do you use NB pronoun/grammar in a language with binary grammar....How does it work for Nimbus in the game in those languages?

Edited by Cultmeister: 3/3/2023 10:53:57 AMOff the top of my head perhaps they use the form for nous/vous since they aren’t gender specific? It would be weird af but it would be much simpler than inventing an entirely new form of grammar. Have you tried asking this on the French language forum? Feel like they would know more than us. Idk how active that place is though. Also post in the general D2 forum, offtopic is for anything non-Destiny related.
