I wonder what Bungie is going to do with Savathuun and her Lucent Hive. They must still have a part to play. They'd be great allies, if they could stop acting like typical Hive for five minutes and have Savathuun start acting more like a strategist and stop being a deceiver who can't be trusted.
The Cabal and Eliksni have joined us, now all we're missing is a Hive and Vex faction.
Edit: Because Savathuun doesn't have a worm to feed anymore, she doesn't have to follow her nature. She CAN pick a new destiny for herself. Bungie just has to get on top of writing her redemption story.

Don't get me started Savathun had every reason to work with us , and zero reason to fight us Witch Queens and Risens story was incredibly forced And it all comes down to the doom and gloom ending Bungie wants for some reason, if a big paracausal player was on our side, it would actually be a fair fight
-
I'm waiting on that aspect to happen. Fynch is still out there helpin out in the throne world so.
-
I’m sure Sav will join forces soon, Now she has very clear reasons to fight against the witness (he straight up caused the destruction of her people) I’m thinking season of the deep. That season most likely will be very huge focused
-
Generically speaking, I feel like the story is going in that direction. In the end, all races will be divided in two sides: one sided with the Traveler, the other with the Witness. Probably in the near future Savathun will join us as counter part of Xivu Arath and, maybe, even the Vex.
-
Yet another thing Bungie hypes up for an expansion, just to drop them as soon as it's done and not come back to them for years. Throw them in with the Scorn, Nightmares, and the Fallen using Stasis.
-
I very much doubt it. Even though we've made friends with other races we've long had conflict with we've never had the same kind of issues with them that we have with the hive. Cabal afaik have never outright sought to wipe us out barring the specific Cabal legion that came and kicked our city down. (I could be wrong though as idk if he was acting on the will of the Cabal leaders or not.) Fallen on the other hand were mostly always just fighting for survival. Just happened that their way of survival often meant huge danger to everyone else. Hive on the other hand are well...a Hive. Even if the specific group of Hive under Savathuun are different they still are a Hivemind that follow her. At best the kind of help we'd get from them is them distracting Calus or the Witness's attention on a different front. I do not see them fighting directly beside us on the battlefield. Certainly not as something planned. I do think Savathuun herself will likely resurface and "aid" us in some way. But it will be to further her own goals and what she wants to do for her species. She doesn't/won't ever have a permanent investment in our survival and thus cannot be a true ally like the fallen house and Caitil are.
-
I believe it’s very obvious that Savathun will become an ally in some way hence the ending of witch queen when we don’t shoot her ghost but there’s no point in bungie doing that anytime soon as she just had a huge dlc and was built up for years. They’ll likely be waiting for light fall for her to do some background help
-
It would be sick if Ciatals forces would be implemented into the raid in some manner.
-
Obviously every single season is just some former enemy going "I give up and join you now." Where have you been? If you can't see the new Bungie is just a bunch of campfire song singing "everyone is great except humans" self-loathing koombayah f-ers then I can't help you. Luckily the gameplay is still fun. The story is a disaster made to impress children at this point.
-
"if they could stop acting like typical Hive for five minutes" Woah bro. Chill with the racism. Not cool. In all seriousness though I highly expect for Savathun and the lucent hive to be used in someway in the future. Otherwise they would've had us crush her ghost. Since we killed the lucent hive's leader. I imagine they're not willing to help us out until we grant them access to Savathun's corpse so she can be revived. Even then. She's the Queen of Lies, and we butchered her -blam!- TWICE. There will need to be an "oh -blam!- we have no other options moment" in order for her to be revived. Which will most likely be in one of the seasons leading to Final Shape.
-
Well savathun has been opposed to the witness dating back to the before the collapse. By the way I would love to learn more of the chant she taught the human family to pass down - most likely the mechanism behind her great deception of the witness - saving the traveller and/or humanity.
-
I personally suspect that Savathun will have a role to play in defeating Xivu Arath. She may have even dropped us a hint on how to do it too. Before she became a Lightbearer, she allowed herself to be imprisoned in the crystal structure by Mara as they worked to remove her worm. We could, theoretically, do the same to Xivu Arath. Basically starve the Hive god of War from receiving her tribute by isolating her and let her worm destroy her.
-
We kill gods without help. We don't need them lol
-
I would rather ask the question - if Bungie put all story telling into one big sequence, how long would it take to run through? Say only D2 Red War Osiris Warmind Forsaken ... All these little missions, build in somehow strikes and dungeons and Raids, but in the sense of a classic role-playing adventure (thinking of my favourite Mass Effect) so you are playing everything only once as the story progresses, how many hours of pure story would we have? The essence of Destiny story in one big narrative/adventure. Everything else are just time fillers.
-
No. Considering we also crush their ghosts, I don't think so.

Check seasonal for my trials KD - old
say sike right now -
No their relegated to witch queen missions. You might see em in festival of the lost though, or a season.
-
Doubt we will get a faction of friendly vex but I think we could get harpy asher mir as an ally if Bungie ever remembers that plot point
-
Here's what I think people often don't understand about the "gift"... The gift doesn't change you. Savathun without her wurm is more dangerous now. Savathun is still alive and she's poised to wipe out everything to gain total control of the Universe. A 'red wedding" type of cataclysm is coming... that's my prediction for next year in Lightfall.

Edited by Lightbringer: 2/20/2023 6:30:32 PMThey were already on your side. Y'all claimed Savathûn stole the light & attacked them. Rememer? Why would Savathûn want to continue to side with a coward like the Traveler when it totally abandoned her when she needed help the most? What is it with some of you here constantly trying to shoehorn the Vex & others to your side?
-
There's the Prophecy (Not as in the dungeon) from Arrivals (Might be Arrivals? Can't remember what season it happened on) regarding the room which showed us a Dorito Ship surrounded by each faction. And by the way they've done the story is that Fallen and Cabal joined us alongside the fact that they were represented in the room also, and Savathum acted both ally and foe in Witch Queen by hinting towards the Veil and hinting towards Lightfall.
The Cabal and Eliksni have joined us, now all we're missing is a Hive and Vex faction.
We should be keeping them at arms length. No reason to bring them so closely into our operations. It would be too easy to infiltrate. Could you imagine if we brought the Lucent Hive in as well and one or more of them is a double agent? How much damage they could do before we were able to stop them? Take out our entire leadership in one go. It’s already bad enough we have a ton of fallen camped out in our backyard. We are already too exposed.
