Pay to win?? You get gear for money? No no no no no. Stop this. 🤦♂️🙅♂️👀
My point is that these features should be free. Charging for quality of life changes is a slippery slope to charging for better rng, loot boxes, subscriptions, and other predatory things. They gave us free catch up gear last season. They have given us a free campaign skip for free before. Making things that are not cosmetics cost money is bad. Period.
Edit: Well clearly people in here want destiny to have a subscriptions, paid loot boxes and just would like a mobile gaming experience based on the responses. I'm really confused how non cosmetics transactions are being defended.

Edited by Major-Payne: 2/21/2023 3:32:43 AMI’m gonna need to know what I win other than more of my time to grind what I want. Besides running a campaign for the 2nd or 3rd time. 👂
-
Idk how paying to skip is paying to win? If unlocking strand is anything like stasis then yeah I’ll probably do it. Like they said if you skip the campaign you won’t get any rewards from it. So all I’m basically doing is paying to save time. I work nights and take college classes in the day time. I don’t have time to do it 3 times. Then spend more time unlocking all the fragments. I rather spend that time preparing for the raid when I do have the time. Bungie seen how people complained about stasis quest and decided if they wasn’t going to get play time for that then they will get money for it. A lot of y’all forget bungie is running a business they may be greedy at times but they are still running a business.

It’s not pay to win the gear you’ll get from skipping will just be infusion fuel, not a quad 100 armour set with 30 perfectly rolled weapons
-
Folks paid for access to the Gjallerhorn. That's kinda pay to win. Paying to skip the campaign on alt characters isn't remotely in the same category.
-
Fanboys. They will literally defend anything Bungie does.
-
I don’t think you know what Pay to Win is.
-
They’ve had purchasable character boosts for years now… still no loot boxes
-
Pay to skip
-
It cost money? I don't remember that but I'm probably wrong lol
-
The thing is. WHY would you skip it? Skipping it doesnt give you the high level armor nor the exotic..nor the infusion materials.

Edited by TheShadow: 2/16/2023 11:30:54 PMWhat's funny about all this is knowing Luke Smith was right about these players especially the ones on Reddit and this forum. What's worse is how some are trying to act as if they aren't going to pay it 😂🤦♂️ Oh, by the way, welcome to NetEase which is a mobile game business that is on the board for this game. This is what some of you wanted, but never mind how it does absolutely nothing to fix the glaring issues this game has and never will for years to come because Band-Aids are a "solution" for the actual problems
-
its more like "pay to lose" since skipping the campaign also means skipping out on any materials you gain through the campaign. +any class specific rewards not being obtained because you skipped it.
-
Wow, you just realized destiny 2 is pay to win?? Congratulations!
-
The gear literally does nothing but bring your light level up if you do the skip. It’s not like if you’re 1700 light lvl and 800 light lvl in pvp you’ll do more damage. If you’re complaining about pve pay to win who cares?
-
Pay to be lazy.
-
Yeah... This game has become a mobile game lol. Pretty soon you'll be paying for shards and glimmer 😂
-
It’s gonna happen aside from DLC/Expansion & Eververse how do bungie make mo ey after the base game went F2P
-
It’s existed before and now it’s a problem? I swear y’all complain about everything

Edited by ravenRedwake: 2/18/2023 3:09:07 PMIt depends greatly on how much foolery is involved with strand, how much of a pain it is to get. I hate all of the stasis classes, they play -blam!-, they aren’t fun for me and they aren’t fun to play against and need a “stasis 2.0” with more melees and grenade options. I will probably obstinately stay with gunslinger (not knife flinger) or spear thrower hunter. I won’t pay to skip the campaign, but I’d put that -blam!- on its easiest difficulty and potato through it on a lazy day. Most of the reason I hate stasis is because of how hard it was to get, I think I stopped playing for a couple of months and Bungle had made it easier by the time I got back, which is sadly the best way to play destiny lol.
-
They could put an asterisk by my name for paying for max statted artificer armor, I’d pay $25 for it. Honestly I’d like the option to not pay for dungeons, since I don’t do them or raids and would take the carney currency in their stead.
-
pay 2 win? the skip? LMFAO
-
This has been a thing since TTK lmao
-
Bungie is out to make money a ton of it and that's all there is on the subject.
-
I don't think I beat the witch queen dlc on my other 2 characters and I still have access to everything. It concerns me they may be forcing you to do the whole campaign on your other 2 characters just to access everything in the end game. If that's the case then I might as well delete the other 2 because as of now I don't have the time to grind everything for them.
-
destiny has always been pay to win
-
Edited by NotCreative123: 2/17/2023 10:33:58 PMThis is one of the least Pay-To-Win games out there, and all skipping the campaign does is save time. Do you really think saving a couple of hours counts as Pay to win? Here are the ACTUAL examples of Destiny being "Pay to win": 1) We have to buy the DLCs and Dungeons to unlock certain weapons, which are sometimes the best in the game 2) The season pass gives some decent armor and Exotics. The better question is: Why can't we skip the campaigns for free?
