There is so much Bungie could do even during a season ...
... buy just adding QoL improvements every other or every fourth week, depending on complexity.
Here are a few ideas:
- Add an option to not being kicked out of the menu when the context changes
- Add an option to remove all time consuming animations from the menus
- Add meaningful sort options to the vault
- Integrate the vault in the menu instead of forcing players to fly to some social space (when the 3rd party application interface is disabled)
- Add sub sections to the vault by means of offering something analogous to tabs
- Add an option to restore the last dismantled item (yes, you can lock items, but mistakes happen)
- Add more ways to purchase Ascendant Alloys (e.g. Resources + Glimmer, like for Ascendant Shards)
- Add the possibility to unlock a second row of perks for crafted weapons (similar to what you get in vendor specific weapon drops after one or more vendor resets)
- Improve the director so you don't have to move the crosshairs or mouse across the screen several times to select a destination (whoever designed that, has no idea of good UI design)
- Remove the "Launch" button in the UI and launch by hovering the crosshairs/mouse cursor over a destination and press the proper controller/mouse button for a few seconds to launch
- Stop scrolling the map in the director when the crosshair/mouse cursor is over an active map element (button)
- Replace the weapon specific mods with weapon class specific ones. Example: Ammo finders. Everytime you switch to a different gun you want to use an ammo finder, you have to switch the ammo finder, too. Every player has access to all mods, so this is pointless. So just put in a primary, energy and heavy ammo finder mod. That does nothing else than saving players time because they don't have to switch e.g. from machine gun to linear fusion ammo finders when they switch from a LMG to an LFR. The only requirement here is unified armor energy requirements for each class of mods.
- Make vendor and end game armor drops work like at the War Table in the HELM
- Make exotic armor drops work like at the War Table in the HELM
- Allow players to chose which armor drop they want when soloing legendary or master lost sectors (perks still random, but like drops from the War Table in the HELM). It is sad and annoying how players are limited in their choice and progress here
- Make vendor guns craftable
- Make armor craftable (ok, that might turn into a bigger task, but not necessarily though)
- Allow picking up vendor rewards even if a lower rank reward hasn't been picked up (e.g. b/c full inventory)
- Send vendor rewards to the post master when the player inventory is full instead of making it impossible to pick it up and subsequently inhibit picking up all higher rewards
When I look at how many things in Destiny are implemented and have not been improved for years, I can only sigh and facepalm.
Bungie could create so much positive reception for this and improve Destiny's reputation so much that way.
I could go on for a while, but I have limited time.
