I've always wondered on the backstory behind the exotic hand cannon Crimson. To me anyway, the lore seems to point to our Guardian at some point or another creating the weapon. Then when our ghost discovers what we've created, it begins the argument we get into with out ghost in the lore tab of the gun.
What do you guys think?

Edited by Guardian,Archon Of Light: 1/18/2023 1:41:34 AMThe story behind crimson is , it shouldn't exist Its an Abomination of The Legendary Red Death Pulse Rifle, that allowed me to Solo Highest Difficulty Crota in D1 But when the dark architects of the west were creating the D2 Portal, they were hand cannon crazy, that's why we had 50 exotic handcannons, so they looked at Red Death, and said , your form is unpure in our new Visions, and you must be assimilated, resistance is futile And when the sun raised on the land of D2, there hideous creation was laid bare for all to see, and the masses cried out "What have you done ?"

The lore: Bungies gift-a gun that turns Weekend dad-gamers into PvP gods without even having to take cover.

If I'm not mistaken Crimson is essentially The Red Death but in a new weapon frame. So a weapon made by a Guardian killer and meant to drain the "life force" out of dead guardians and that is what heals you. Even in D1 the weapon was in an auto rifle frame but it shot like a pulse rifle. So I don't think we created it but it is a continuous usage from the origin of its creation by some unknown mad guardian (if I remember correctly). This is the reason it was banned by the Vanguard and why the ghost has the argument. Great topic to bring up though! Hope I didn't get any part wrong here :)
