To save myself time im going to copy over the forum post i had on the steam discussions forum for Destiny 2.
Anyone have issues with destiny 2 where after hitting enter at the title screen it goes into an almost 15 to 25 minute connecting screen? Like its got the dark loading background and the bottom right symbol that says "Connecting"
Its not an issue with our internet, we used to play on playstation and had recently gotten back into destiny but this time on PC because witch queen came out.
My Boyfriend has a good gaming PC with a wired connection and I have a standard gaming laptop with a wireless connection, both are capable of running Destiny just fine.
He was the only one to have this issue at the start, but restarting his computer fully after we looked up some stuff on google helped. I never had the issue when we first started playing, rules this being an internet issue out.
Now the past couple months I am frequently having the issue and restarting my laptop and steam both don't fix it and I am having to wait anywhere from 10 to more frequently 25 minutes for it to get past the Connecting screen. My boyfriend is having the issue less and less.
Has this happened to anyone else and does anyone know of a solution?
Also now I am experiencing alot of lag spikes in the game, even at the lowest graphics settings, where i prior have not had this issue at medium to almost high graphics settings, the game also takes a good amount of time to load after getting through the connecting screen which adds on another 10 minutes or so.
I am running on a Lenovo Ideapad L340-15IRH gaming laptop with a GTX 1650, not the strongest laptop but I have not had any prior issues with running destiny when we started I was even able to run spotify while playing with no issues.
