lightfall linear nerfs, bungie pls come to your senses

linears are the only usable heavy for dps. heavy ammo drop rates needs to be fixed/buffed. linears are good because of triple tap/fttc. buff ammo drops or something, having 0 heavy and 0 special while primary weapons are the worst for MULTIPLE dps phases is not fun, while ammo drops are nonexistent. with spire of watcher dungeon bosses health so beefy you need 6-8 dps phase, that's not balance. that's trying to compensate for difficulty that doesn't need balancing. duality dungeon boss can be done in 3 phase or less. yes used well, cataclymic bait and switch, tether and dps was so bad on the boss, takes too many dps phases. the master boss is full of overload champions that are impossible to kill, because they ignore the constant stun and instantly heal back up, just gave up on this dungeon, no hopes for it. a dungeon boss should have the max limit of 3 phase to kill, not 10+. linears are at good place, bring other weapons up to the same level, not above them.

  • They already said machine guns will be brought up to be on par with other heavy options. So here's to hoping for a MG DPS meta . I'm going to grind for a good roll crafted seraph MG with 4th times.

  • Use rockets for the last boss in the new dungeon along with one gjally, ammo finders, and ammo scavenger mods. A 2 phase is doable with the right setup, and I’ve easily 3 phased multiple times. Funny you complain about linears, which is reasonable, while mentioning the spire boss. Who, if what I was told is correct, actually takes much less precision damage on top of a hard to hit crit spot, making him a counter to linear fusions.

    maybe you shouldn’t be using a linear on a boss with a hard to hit crit? actual ape brains out here. linears should have a damage nerf, but should get a little more reserves to solidify themselves as a sustained dps option.

  • Yeah. I don't want to go back to bullet sponge bosses with immunity phases. Feels awful. We need more bosses and lieutenants like Rhulk. Vulnerability crit spots. Not more enemies with huge health bars to fight with weakened weapons.

    • They have some of the highest total damage in the game, higher than Anarchy, Whisper, Leviathans Breath, 5 20-stack parasite shots, and more, while also having more DPS than most other options. They're insanely efficient. An ideal nerf is to cut back on their dps (7-13%) while maintaining or mildly nerfing their total damage (-7% - 0%).

      • Absolutely horrible what they did with the bosses. Dungeon is pathetically short, so they prolonged it that way. How sad. Low effort as it can be.

        • Linears are the only viable boss dps because they are the only viable boss dps. Either chop down the only problem or buff all the other solutions, in the end there is always only one viable boss dps weapon.
