Bungie could make dedicated servers their only update for a whole season and it would be their best season. They could name it, "season of community", since they would finally be doing something the community has asked for lol. Surely this update needs to happen if they want their game to last into the future. Think about how long Warframe has been around. Their game came back to life because they focused on what the community wanted. I've seen such a trend lately of games dying because companies don't listen to their communities.

Edited by Kuzie: 12/5/2022 1:28:31 AMYou got more of chance of Elvis rising up from the 🪦.. turning up at Bungie studios and doing a free concert. We are never going to get servers for specifically PVP in destiny 2. 8 years on nothing was a dream on the community's wish list nothing more..

dedicated servers will make pvp better yeah, but not really worth for bungie all the time they will have to use to REBUILD ALL THE GAME

Edited by Daemon White: 12/5/2022 2:07:40 AMDedicated servers alone would not make a season. This is an incredibly short-sighted idea. You would cause an even bigger uproar for the PvE crowd if they paid for the season or deluxe edition and all they got for 4 months of a year was a dedicated server addition to the Crucible. And that alone ignores the fact that you're seemingly assuming that every person at Bungie can switch their career focus to server development in order to do so. What would the writers do? Weapons and Armour devs? "Season of the Community" while only addressing a singular complaint of the minority playerbase. Do you like watching a community tear itself apart? Because that's how you get a community to tear itself apart.

I think they use some sort of hybrid system. At the very least Bungie should add more servers to what already exists. I don't think we'll ever have dedicated servers in D2 though. P2P is part of the games DNA at this point.

Ain't gunna happen.
-
That’s a lie, could still be a terrible season.

Servers will never happen regardless of any arguments you have worked up. This topic has been going since 2014, at least, and 8 years later we have nothing as far aa any dedsers go. D3 is not a thing either. In fact it is likely D2 will end, as far as story goes, within the next 2 years in my opinion. After all? You can only whip the horse for so long before the twitches stop.

You say that, but people would complain about the stale meta, things not getting nerfed and buffed, no new maps, and nothing to do or grind for in PvE and PvP. The shininess of dedicated servers would last a week and then people would wonder what they’re going to do for 3 months.

Creating a dedicated server environment isn't the easiest endeavor. I love how most just think it's an easy flip a switch.

Does Warframe have dedicated servers?
-
100% correct. Wish Sony would kick em into shape.

There cup and string network is probably the worst I’ve played on
-
They’re too far up their own -blam!- and it would have to be a D3 thing most likely. Been asking for DedSer’s since 2014 but they keep trying to outsmart everyone else only to find a lackluster solution they’ve custom made.

Would be cool. Pretty much impossible without a title update and engine changes.
