  • Something positive from this season: I never played D1 which means my clan got to give me my first King's Fall run and about half of them almost died laughing when I got to the aptly named Wiener Wall. Lots of fun learning a new raid, even if it's a returning one since I went in blind.

  • Someone, who shall remain nameless (but HOPEFULLY know who they are), relighting a fire under my @$$ and spurring me to game outside of the comfort-zone apathy I've fallen into. In fact, I just completed Shattered Throne earlier tonight for the 1st time. Please, no snark from the peanut gallery necessary. Big THANK YOU to the guardians who helped me finish it, and the one who motivated me to even try. I'm going to start looking for a Duality team after I re-run Shattered for the Wishender.

    • Raiding is always a great time even if u don't finish it, but that also requires chill people. Out of bounds play time with friends but the best is with randoms honestly cuz if they're new lights it's like u open a whole new side of destiny to them. And if destiny was fun enough to get most of my crucible buddies back on 6v6 private matches with rules like *infected* is always a great time

    • This season was the first time I attempted and completed a GM and it was in lfg which I feel is a minor miracle. Biggest rush I've felt in the game was when 3 golf balls dropped at once. I've got no chance of getting conquer this season as I was only able to complete 3 of the 6 GM's but it gives me something to shoot for in future seasons. I can feel the angst of the GM's going away for a while now which I never did before

Playing D1 and D2 for over 7 years has been a mostly positive experience for me. I have many happy memories. When I get bored or frustrated, I take a break until I feel that excitement to play again. I enjoy PvP the most - that’s usually my reason for logging in. The blend of gunplay and space magic, along with the art and sound, is what separates it from other PvP games for me. My favourite moments are the 1v3 scenarios I sometimes win in the 3v3 game modes and the closely fought matches that swing back and forth.

    • It’s always the loud minority in these situations. I can’t wrap my head around the “I’m quitting” threads. This is a video game, either play it or don’t. It’s not a big issue. Grown men some of them are too.

        • My friends became positive when they stopped playing this game. Everybody felt stressed, disappointed about the game since shadowkeep. We are now all having fun on other games and there we are positive :p We just play d2 when new endgame content releases (raid or dungeon) Couldnt care less about the seasonnal loop.

        • I enjoy Destiny for what it is, a FPS that combines Halo and Borderlands. I play it for fun. When I complete whatever I want to do for the season, I play other games until the new season drops. People that need D2 in their lives more than oxygen don't seem to understand that there's more than 1 videogame in existence. D2 doesn't need to have new content 24/7 for them. I enjoy it because it's fun for me. Simple. And as long as I personally have fun with the game I will continue to vote with my wallet.

        • Oh man, so many positive experiences i would not know where to start. I guess the broadest one is seeing how good the story just keeps getting, i seriously adore the whole plot of this game and the narrative!

        • Great post, and your right, the negative players only represents a small percentage of players. For me, coming back to Destiny reminded me why I love this game. Its great PVE/P game that really makes you play at your best, while having a great time and challenging ones self. I get to play an awesome clan of players that get together for a good time and laugh more then we shoot.

        • Finally seeing Hawkmoon drop from a heroic Undying Mind strike 11 days before House of Wolves. Had it levelled the same day (this was before motes could be used to level, so took a lot of xp). Getting Vex from my first (and only) level 30 VoG (with 2 helms). I think I still have the screenshot my PS4 took when the trophy popped somewhere. Watching a hunter blink straight downwards jumping over a gap in the broken stairs on Sector 618 during IB Rift. It still makes me laugh. Getting snipped in trials whilst throwing a glacier grenade only to have the opposing hunter shatterdive into it killing themselves and their teammate (on titan at the time).

        • The friends I have made. Enjoying it with my 2 sons. Doing dungeons blind. Clutching a GM when I was the last guardian with no revives left. Chasing god rolls. Getting that raid exotic. Beating a raid for the first time. When I got Whisper with 2 under leveled randoms from an lfg post.

        • VOG - Forever 29. Crota - 'Who can run sword?' Farming planetary materials in a loop for a relaxing Sunday afternoon. Prison of Elders welcomes you. (Etheric light sheesh). Siva and the Rise of Iron. Oryx - He's huge - 'Hope his special attack isn't a big hive dik slam he does when he lobs it over the side' Scorn, Scorn, Scorn. and Pew, pew, pew, pew. Always, Pew, pew, pew. The Pew, pew, pew is exceptional. And space magic. That is all.

        • There’s actually a lot of positives about destiny. A game that feeds its pve players regularly with story where most games focus only on pvp. It leads to a story that is told and grows in a way no other game does making it feel more lived. Great armor designs that are a ton of fun to mix and match and make your own look. And as much as people like to claim Bungie doesn’t listen they absolutely do and make changes based on player feedback. It still has some of the best gameplay out there with the most diverse weapons and fun activities. It’s not perfect but the negatives are easily outweighed by the good. Really the only major flaw is its entitled, toxic fans.

        • Both the game and playing it with friends has yielded a ton of positive moments, otherwise people wouldn't still be here. The reason the community is so negative and toxic is because Bungie is toxic and/or so conceited that they can't even be bothered to interact with us regularly. Just check out a Warframe Dev Stream. That's how all live service game devs should handle their communities.
