As of late when launching Destiny 2 I have experienced repeated freezes which the game does not recover from. Usually it gets past the initial screen where you need to press a key to advance, but does not get to the character selection screen. 9/10 times the freeze occurs moments after the FPS counter on the top right of my screen appears. At this point switching tabs (Alt +Tab) will cause the game window not be viewable, but still show up in the alt tab menu. Closing the game via Steams "Stop" button in library does not work and it will be stuck on stopping until the task manager is used to end it. So far I have tried Validating the game files, updating my steam, restarting my computer and steam, removing games I no longer play (though storage may be an issue), killing unnecessary programs, and switching my laptop to "Performance" rather than "Turbo" (I have a ROG Zephyrus). Before now I have had no issue running Destiny 2 on this laptop at full graphics with consistent 120+ FPS. Perhaps I am missing something here but I feel as though I have exhausted all options. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Update: I tried launching again and only made it to character selection where the game froze in the same way. During the launching the computer's total memory usage did not exceed %50, but back before this issue when running D2 my computer would regularly reach much higher usage. Update: After the previous attempt I've decided to uninstall and reinstall the game. Will add another update after. Update: After redownloading the game worked for about half an hour before freezing. Update: Lowered graphics, but still froze. I have a theory that it's caused by the character screen, that seems to be the only time it freezes after clearing the character selection screen and I have noticed that when loading the model on selection it "shudders"
