Is it possible that the Final Shape is the Witness' end? I think it would make sense when it comes to the Sword Logic. Is it possible that the conquest of the Witness is just a search for someone strong enough and brave enough to challenge him and kill him? Kind of like the Ebony Warrior from Skyrim.
Maybe spending eons as a immortal in a mortal realm has made the Witness suicidal and he just wants it to end.
Edit: Maybe that's why the Witness holds such a grudge against the Traveler. The Witness knows that the Traveler can defeat him but just refuses to land the killing blow.

Witness gonna have to get in line. The final shape will be a boot up its @ss.

Don't think so. In many vampire tales, ancient vampires will sometimes becomes so bored with endless existence that it becomes painful. So they eventually walk out into the Sun and destroy themselves. I don't get that vibe from The Witness. The Witness gives me more of an Emperor Palpatine vibe. Someone who is a zealot, and has such a pathologic ego (evil) that they are determined to make the entire Universe submit to their will, and impose THEIR idea of how things should be upon it.

I'd rather that be Xivu Arath's goal more than the Witness's tbh. Xivu is a warrior so a warrior's death would be the honorable way to go.

In a way this actually kind of works with the way oryx interpreted the sword logic. It may not be the end the witness is going for, but could be an acceptable plan B like oryx and his touch of malice failsafe plan

My theory is a lot scarier. ‘the children of Sol cry out for salvation’ In lore of The Nine there was a vote to separate themselves from humanity which may or may not lead to the death (read: extinction) of one or both. Four voted for separation, four voted against. What if the Witness is coming for the Nine? The war could be won against us without us firing a single shot.

IMHO, we are the Final Shape, and the Witness is molding us into a Key so he can reach....the End.
-
Wow never thought that

The Witness believes the final shape is for the strongest creatures to be the only ones left alive.

Question where exactly is it stated IT wants the end of the traveler? I want to look and see. I don't think the final shape is the end in terms of death; the final shape is more the reveal to a question that was asked (really a demand), the end of a line of thought. I like where it's going. But I need to know where are all the spots that the witness straight up says IT is out to kill the traveler.
