PvP - how to counter Invisible Hunters/Opponets?

Hello Guardians =) I'd like to have some tips on how to counter Invisible Hunters/Opponets. One of my main issues so far in PvP are invisible opponents =/ either Hunters or other Guardians invisible for any reason (Rat King, Hunter's Smoke ecc). I turn an angle -no marks on the radard- and BAM! i die for a Shotgun or Fusion Rifle. I check a line and before realizing anything I get shot by a Scout Rifle and I see an Hunter popping out from thin air. I'm taking a Zone -maybe I'm reloading- BAM! I die 'cos an Hunter sneaked upon me Invisible. How do you counter Invisibility? What are your methods to avoid to get sneaked by Invisible opponets? Thanks in advance =)

  • It's pretty easy to see imo. Listen for the audio cues from them going in and out of invis. Stop relying so much on radar especially when playing against players using invis. The majority of the time, especially in modes like trials/comp, they will be extremely predictable by going for flanks. Usually of which is the same

  • 1. Stop relying on your radar. Use it as an additive to your gameplay but try not rely on it. Audio queues are good even though this games audio isn't exactly amazing but you can here dodges/smokes/etc. 2. If you know they're invis, look for outlines, not for people. The purple outline is easier to see IMO than is the actual character model. 3. Back up. Most people use invis to push. Most good players anyways, that aren't also crutching Lorentz or Arby. Now if you're getting flanked a ton obviously then you'll need to recognize that and start moving up or to other areas. 4. Big Grenades. Shut off certain paths where they will have to take damage to get to you. Lightning, solar/void "ball", void wall, storm, etc. Anything you can use to lockdown the quickest route to you.

  • If you're playing a single invis player, you can usually track the player using audio cues. However, when you play a full team of invis players, you need to be smart: * Don't stand in a lane that can be challenged from more than one angle. Use a grenade to hold off an angle if you have to. * Understand that linear fusions will not glow while someone is invis, so you'll need to play a little closer to cover * Keep shooting as the Hunter dodges and keep the fire up even if you can't see his health bar * Keep your communications with your team quiet, so you can hear movement. Also, give concise location callouts, so your team gets notified of flanks right away * Barricades ruin Void Hunters' day. If you're worried about a flank, drop a Barricade. In my opinion, the best way to counter invis is by using audio cues. However, the ambient noise on certain maps (Looking at you, Burnout!!) is too loud to hear much. Unfortunately, there's not a lot to do about it

    • I have a minor related question. Does invis also silence player movement audio? Like jumps, footsteps etc. I havent been in PVP in a bit, but I used to play religiously. I use audio queues more than anything to find where enemies are. Radar is secondary and helps confirm sound direction but is not my sole way to find enemies.

      • The only true issue with invis is what you're basically pointing out corner campers who just sit like it's hardcore CoD. And really all I say is a quote from Daddy Shaxx: throw more grenades guardian. If u hear a invis go off try and throw a grenade in that general direction just to even scare them half the time they won't be able to handle true combat so a grenade will flinch an invisbish

        • How to counter invis. You shoot them. Dont know why people have so much trouble with it. You are very visable with it on and it makes a lot of noise and has a very short duration compared to before 3.0 My guess is people cry about invis because they ran out of other stuff to cry about. Because you people would go mad if you couldn't cry about something on hunter.

        • Cross your fingers and hope they aren't crouched with a scout rifle 100 meters away.

        • It depends if it’s 6v6 it’s more of a coin toss but when it’s 3 v3 look who you’re playing against like exotics they upswing as well as there stats and load outs but most importantly try to listen for sound it makes and make call outs. If you see an invis hunter let your team know where at and where they going

            • Really hard to counter in 6s as its a lot more chaotic. 3's take note of how many invis hunters and their exotics. Try playing an invis hunter and you'll learn their strengths and weaknesses. You'll learn how often they can invis, how their cooldowns work and limitations. Sound cues in 3s are huge, turn down the music and audio up. Lastly - they're not actually invisible, but it sounds like from the little you've written you're getting out maneuvered by radar manipulation and lack of radar being consistent tool to rely on so, you really need to learn the audio cues.
