I know we can get pretty toxic, but that's pretty much anywhere on the internet where people hide behind a username. Twitter is no exception.
That being said, please communicate with us more here on your own forums. Distance does not make the heart grow fonder, if you know what I mean.
Thank you.

Twitter ban…… permanent Destiny tracker asked this question. Explain your character without naming what you use. My reply was; I will run after you and kill you with my kneecaps of death. I was banned for violating tac with violence. I emailed the thread and photos but cannot undo my ban 🤯💩🤣

They will be communicating here on the forums...briefly before lightfall launch It's the same every year, they "remember" the forums and have dmg or cosmo reply to a couple of trending posts just to try and fool people into thinking they're listening now. Then it's quickly back to ignoring us for the next 11 months
-
It was on Twitter they got death threats not here. No the truth is they don't want communication they want high volume social media traffic as a means of game promotion and secondly a means to narrow their communication not to the community...but to high-profile promotors in order to keep them promoting and on-side. Just a heads up.
-
Even if you’re civil and mention something that flies in face of the activists at Bungie on Twitter, they’ll just ban you.
-
Wait till they join Truth platform.
-
That’s the fate that those Dukes of Toxicity have given us… you shall accept it right ? D2 will become just like Dark souls or Elden Ring. The harmony for elitists, the hell for casual players. This is the harsh truth. But oh well, who are we to be talking truths here, we’re mere canines barking at their faces at this point.

Edited by Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 10/22/2022 4:48:56 PMYes, please. I’m not getting a Twitter. All they’d have to do is implement something similar on this app, that we can’t respond to. I’m sure they’re worried about toxicity(and rightfully so), but if it’s just a news bulletin that we can’t respond to, that would be fine. Or even if they could implement it in the actual game itself, that would be best.
-
Deej would post here. I miss his posts.
-
There's gonna have to be a dedicated mod team for this place is they did. Which would be nice, start cleaning up the forums and enforce rules about behavioral issues that go on around here to open more communication.
-
They use twitter because it's a corporate echo chamber full of bots and 72 IQ human bots.
-
Using the website designed for them to communicate with the community to communicate? What a novel idea! Too bad Bungie acts like Twitter and Reddit are the only websites you can communicate on.
-
I dunno. I kinda like that I'll never be tempted to create art for them since they require posting it on social media or they pretend it doesn't exist. I count that as a win, personally.

Edited by HollowKage: 10/22/2022 4:35:23 PMTwitter is a cesspool right now. Wait till Elon gets it and does his much deserved purge (firing 75% of staff yeeeeessssss 👊) maybe, just maybe then it’ll be an okay place.
-
Twitter is horrible. People there are obnoxious. You can literally write - what a nice day - and someone will attack you for saying that, like - what do you have against the night - followed by numerous insults. It's an online cesspool of civilisation.

Edited by FloodZ: 10/22/2022 1:03:21 AMIf Bungie actually cared about toxicity against their employees they would move 100% of communication to the forums where they could eliminate 100% of the toxic posts because they control the platform. What bungie actually cares about is having the largest audience possible, and to pawn the expense of moderation off on a third party whose profit motivation is having as much engagement as possible to drive up message and user counts, which includes toxic people.
-
Twitter is just... ugh. I have no words. Hopefully Elon Musk will turn it around.
-
Bungie's abandoned their own forums entirely. The last Bungie employee I can recall who engaged with people on these forums was Hippy, one of their newer community managers.
-
Edited by Pistachio Bandit: 10/21/2022 10:31:38 PMWhen servers were down I used to guest bungie help twitter. Now they don’t let you read comments on twitter not logged in so I don’t even bother. I’ll never have a twitter account. It really is a lot to ask a -blam!- community manager to copy paste twitter to here…
-
Would be nice for them to use their own app instead of social media but 🤷♂️ Not interested in any social media platform to be honest.
-
Because in Twitter and other social media, they don’t have to moderate it. They just make multiple ALT accounts to defend their schemes. It’s an old trick. They have a bunch of ALT accounts here too. You just don’t know it because they aren’t telling you. Haha!🤣
-
Right? And less on Reddit
-
Just put it on the game feed at the start, if you want to review it then screenshot. No need to enter into discussion. Similar to the way they inform us what’s happening ‘next week in destiny’
-
Nah, Twitter and reddit are just as full of people with similar opinions. If I remember recently community managers went full tilt on the hate they were getting saying there was even death threats sent to them. This has that familiar old adage “you reap what you sow” stained throughout.
-
Alternatively... Dear Bungie, Please join my discord to effectively communicate with me. Oh? What's that Bungie? You think it absurd? Indeed it is...
-
Edited by TheArtist: 10/22/2022 12:01:29 PMBeen here 8 years. They do that for a reason. 1. Twitter and Reddit are more strictly moderated, and tends to foster a more constructive dialog. 2. This place is beyond toxic. Sometimes absurdly so. People down in Off-topic just refer to this part of the forum as The Salt Mines. Whenever one of the CMs used to try to talk to us about the game, they’d just get hit with this tidal wave of toxicity and abuse. Some of it really ugly and quite personal. Bottomline, is no one should have to put up with that simply to do their job. Putting up with it daily is not good for anyone’s health or wellbeing. So Bungie stopped having them subject themselves to it….and I can’t really blame them. You can only bite the hand that feeds you for so long before people stop dealing with you. So Bungie stopped dealing with this place…sorry, but that aren’t coming back. Especially given the levels that some people were willing to take the abuse apparently….
