I drew the pose on a whim. Literally pure imagination [spoiler]only reference was for cloth and shading style, more on that later[/spoiler] -- Originally this was just a p#ssed off head and floating hands. It looked pretty decent so I drew an outline for the arms and the rest of the body. ...For [i]science[/i]. Drew a short lil shirt tied up in the middle, cause its quick and I wasnt planning on drawing any more. But then realized this had potential so I reworked the shirt, and then added a skirt cause legs are overrated. Unfortunately I didn't get rid of the linear for the previous shirt, which should explain the tightness under the- yeah, anyways. originally the band for the ears were hidden cause it was a pain, but then realized no one could tell if I was drawing a catgirl or if they were Party City a prop, so there's the band. Color scheme was cause Red looks nice, and black is also nice, but dark gray looks like there's lighting. The Hello Kitty was an afterthought, but it fits the red skirt and cat theme so I felt it was [i]purrfe[/i]- no im not doing that. About the shading style, or rough art style I used, I saw this style some time ago on the internet and I really liked it despite what it was used to draw. Like, it really accents depth in a person's body, and I think I did it wrong... The skin coloring, or lack thereof, is inspired by Ember Knight (great manhwa) and its rough prequel(?) Gilgamesh which I havent read yet. basically the only skin coloring is in the shading, and it just looks so fresh or something idk. Just the color contrast between skin and hair I suppose.
