Problems I need to get off my chest

Destiny, I love this game, I've dedicated so much time and several hundreds of dollars to it because of how much I used to enjoy it, but it has really only gotten downhill as of recently, seems most of the stuff is focused on making the lore nerds happy or being annoyingly grindy without any sort of difficulty because someone with a job and kids couldn't pick a game like Warframe where content is not limited by a time frame so they couldn't level up their seasonal artifact for power So, here is my rant post for stuff I just want see happen or see removed with this game, and I hope I'm not alone here 1. Champions are not -blam-ing difficulty, they're annoyances I remember soloing nightfalls constantly, all we had to do was use the "Five of Swords" to pick our modifiers and decide our difficulty "I want Arc burn, Chaff, Extinguish and Match Game" and Boom, that's what I had to build around, I used to Solo Nightfalls like this because if I wanted a challenge or if I just wanted a quick run, I had options like that without the need for these Champions which not only force me to move mods around to make room for the ability to fight them, they force the weapons I want to use as well, and holy most dread the day they have to use Overload Bow on an Overload Captain but don't want to use Ticuu's. Champions are just a cheap way of implementing "difficulty" without putting in any effort, but before champs, we had genuine changes of difficulty, Prestige Leviathan was the best raid for difficulty if you ask me, because even if we all saw it as pretty easy, we knew the difficulty spikes came in forms of things such as extra war beasts hunting players, Gauntlet requiring players to cycle out, no sustained roles, etc With champions its just removing the fun factor for the illusion of challenge, you wanted to use your new fusion rifle? too bad, it doesn't have any champion mod to pair with it. What about snipers? Well you're in luck! all you have to do is remove almost every other mod on your gloves, so good luck with your build crafting. Honestly though, just, either make champion mods that cover a certain group of weapons (Anti-barrier precision weapons, overload rapid fire weapons, unstoppable blast weapons, etc), or just stop with champions altogether Extra - or at least make DARCI a all-rounder, because that scan an enemy perk could be amazing for champions and is a missed opportunity, "DARCI detects an overload champion, swapping to overload rounds" Note 1: While writing point 3 I remembered the "Thorn Strike", which without champions used modifiers to give difficulty in a raw form, that's what a master nightfall should've felt like, not just a champion weapon spam 2. The constant RNG exotic from very specific activity method, it's not rewarding, it's just annoying So, some players feel RNG is what makes a drop feel more rewarding, and I see their point as the relief you feel when you finally get the item after 62 clears of something is just amazing, but it doesn't have to be this way Many players are also likely to agree they hate the Lost Sector system, because we can all be honest, that "common" exotic drop chance, does not feel any form of -blam-ing common, because some of us do ten runs and still receive nothing, and with the average time for lost sectors being anywhere from 5-15 minutes based on the lost sector, I'm talking almost a minimum of an hour of grinding for a supposedly "common" item, that isn't common, that's rare at best These rng exclusive exotics that are put out as common are basically false advertised it feels, so what if we had some sort of actual bad luck protection or guaranteed point of drop If a person does a flawless raid or does their 20th clear (with loot), they should receive the exotic without question, same should go if a person does a Legend or Master Lost Sector 10-15 times Or make the rng from all categories, if I want to focus a helmet the option for lost sectors is there, but I want to farm strikes or crucible I should still have the chance 3. Why is there such a lack of quests now? and no, challenges are not quests, grinding out red border weapons because you want to craft something is not a quest. I'm talking old quests like Divinity and Thorn's, or even ones for smaller weapons like Luna's Howl and Not Forgotten, multiple steps with their own little requirements Ones like Thorn and Luna's Howl got thrown out because players complained about "there HAVING to be the unnecessary pvp step", which I simply say, grow up and deal with it, as a person who hates pvp and despises touching it, grow a back bone and shut up, those steps were part of the quest and I believe pvp is the most difficult part of quests which made a reward worthwhile (plus, I mean, were you really going for Thorn with the ideal you weren't going to use it in PvP?) The last quest exotic we got was Hawkmoon, multiple steps that had us in search of items across the system, with a few mission steps in between, but nowadays with ones like DMT and Dead Messenger it was just, Step one: Collect quest to unlock mission Step two: Do mission for reward That isn't a quest, that's an excuse of one, that's JUST A MISSION, which has the requirement of "have the quest in hand", it's like me calling the Whisper mission a quest, it wasn't, it was a mission 4. The 3.0 reworks just seemed so... meh- Void was the best of the three reworks and I am willing to die on this hill, as far as I believe it had the most buffs to all three class than any other, while still retaining identities for each class, the titan was the bulwark, the hunter was the assassin, the warlock was the support But with Solar, everyone became the support and Warlock lost its identity, as well as most of its kit. Warlocks were built to be the aerial support, but aerial was redundant that season due to the airborne accuracy changes, and support was a loose term because everyone and their favourite space grandmother Eva Levante was throwing healing grenades and applying restoration, there was zero need for a warlock outside of the discovery of the fusion grenade buff to have the spam and damage, which in itself seemed to be very short lived (at least for me as I never see it anymore) Finally Arc appeared, highly anticipated and so.. bland- Void had three buffs and debuffs - Invisibility, Overshield and Devour / Suppression, Volatile and Weaken Solar had three/four buffs and two debuffs - Restoration, Cure, Radiant and Embers of Benevolence / Scorch, Ignite Arc has one buff and two debuffs - Amplified / Jolt and Blind it has half the effects, and has what is essentially wells of light but worst built into the kit, yes hunters got another super, and titans got a new melee, but I've heard honestly very little outside the talk of the Hunter super, as if the rest was just so minimal it was swept under the rug by the community Nobody talks about the Titan dodge or the Warlock slide-melee, and these kind of further prove my point, there is so minimal about Arc people rather use Solar or Void over it. When it comes to a point where many of the posts for Arc 3.0 at the start were mostly asking for buffs on Warlock's Arc supers, I feel it may be because Arc is weak and boring as a set of subclasses 5. Gambit- how is it still a mess? Look, I think the community has heard the complaints about gambit a million times so instead of offering complaints I'll make a solution Step one: Rework the old sets for Gambit Prime (Mainly buffs to sentry, and tweaks to invader) Step two: Bring back Gambit Prime (without Reckoning!!!) Step three: Allow us to focus Gambit Prime armour sets using the gambit engrams Honestly, I am still in firm belief that Gambit Prime was the best version of Gambit we got, one round, 100 motes, four tiers of blockers, reason for Invaders to try and avoid kills and rather just hold ground, the introduction of a good primeval damage phase system. Plus it came with a certain hand cannon many would say is their favourite hand cannon, Spare Rations (plus it would allow you to sell old ornaments that people wanted for their weapons, so Bungie you'd get a financial benefit too) If any idea is taken from this list, please let it be my ones about gambit ------------ But yeah, these are my main things I had to get off my chest in regards to the game, I've seen almost every edge this game has to offer, I've collected many opinions about this game, but most of mine are negative for the time being because so much of what I enjoyed has become either junk in the vault (Black Armoury equipment) or a complete mess compared to its past versions (Strikes and Gambit)

  • Main point is the game feels empty. After spending a whole lot of hours there is nothing to do. For example: - why i should run strikes? for strike loot that feels not rewarding? - Master raids? For armor? Dungeons have artificle armor thats better. Also missed oportunity to put in Age of triumphs armor. Or for weapons that I can already craft better one? - getting better at pvp will make my matches a lot of harder - Seasonal content is lacking for dedicated players. - Why would I run grandmasters this season? For weapons that i already had 2 years ago? - Core playlist are lacking all around and spending time at this game feels not rewarding. And there is many many more points like that. I am begining to belive that lightfall will change nothing at all. It will be 2 weeks boom of new stuff and then back to boring stuff.
