I know for a very long time the community has wanted trading between players.
My observation from multiple games I’ve played would suggest that you bungie, introduce a “Clan Vault” this vault will only be accessible by the clan that owns it, and it will allow players to drop gear into the vault and let others within the clan pick up the necessary gear they need if they haven’t yet got it to drop, also we would be able to share materials with each other, those who have an abundance of materials that they can’t seem to put a dent it and those who don’t have enough due to time played.
Just a thought

I’m not sure who the collective community you’re saying has wanted trading for a long time, but there’s no way it’s coming. Like you’ve said, yes, people who pay for things, that would be on them, but it’s so exploitable. God rolls getting sold, exotics, high stat armour, artifice pieces, time lost etc. it would stop people actually playing, and I don’t think Bungie are ever going to go for that. You must have seen plenty of posts from people with 50+ clears and no vex. Why bother when I can join a “clan” and PayPal one for $20? Why play trials when I can buy the gear? Why bother grinding out raids for the exotic? What’s the point in putting an exotic quest like Div in it when someone can just buy it? It would totally devalue the game. I haven’t even touched on the pay to win aspect it would introduce. Want that god rolled PvP weapon? That cracked triple 100 armour set up? Join my clan and you can have it - for the low low monthly fee of $20, you can access any of “these” items from our clan vault. Trading works in some games, usually those with massive economies like some major MMORPG’s. Destiny isn’t one of those games, so I don’t see any way it would work at all.
