Hi! So this has been an issue for quite some time, i have a full set of artifice armor that i got in season of the Lost, a few seasons ago however, all pieces but one lost the ability to carry a 5th slot as they should. As its not consistent i doubt its intentional. I read around the time it started happening that it was a known issue, but as i still have gotten no resolve i wish to know if there's plans on fixing this issue, or if i just gotta get off my *** and get a new set?

Edited by Zoidberg: 9/23/2022 3:45:32 PMThey would much rather ignore it than admit they can't fix it. Just go farm duality and be proactive on removing your seasonal mods from all your gear. Basically getting to the point were we can't trust the game not to screw players over every season.
-
Imagine how fast they'd fix it if there was an extra slot instead of a missing one.
-
The standard Bungie answer : play more to get the working version of what you already had.
-
They stated there’s no fix to the old sets you got to grind new.
-
They fixed the issue on sets moving forward, they've already said it's impossible to restore the slot on previous seasons armor. Time to get farming for a new set

I gave up and deleted a bunch of artifice gear and went and farmed more when Avarice was featured.

I'm not going to spend hours or even days re-grinding for a new armor piece just to have it bug out again. If Bungo fixes it then great, but I'm not holding my breath.
-
They fixed 'the problem' 'The problem' was artifice armor would lose that 5th slot. I'm not holding my breath they will restore lost slots. I doubt they see it as an issue anymore, 'problem solved' I know it stinks, but I think it do be like that sometimes I feel your pain, sorry

Better off farming new sets, Im fairly sure bungie gave up here. Had to go get some Artifice Deep Explorer Cloaks to replace my Twisting Echos ones. I do feel Like Dualitys master armor rolls are high then master GoA though, so the experience was not as miserable as last time.
-
It's on their "known issues" list. You're probably better off farming new pieces at this point though because it doesn't seem like a high priority issue for Bungie. Bugs that don't give us some kind of advantage always seem to take forever to get fixed.

This was last addressed in the TWAB dated 7/7/22:
Missing Artifice Armor Slot: The Indiana Jones of Bugs Earlier in the Season, players noticed an issue where there was a missing Artifice armor slot. While the issue was fixed, we wanted to take a moment to explain what’s going on. The first fix, notated in a previous hotfix article found here (*), did address the found issue, but only for players who hadn’t yet logged in for the Season. Unfortunately, for those players who have already logged into the current Season and have lost their Artifice armor sockets, a second, trickier fix is currently in the works, and requires some additional time. * https://www.bungie.net/en/Explore/Detail/News/51440 With each new Season comes new gear and with that, certain aspects of the game are moved, improved, or downright removed for new features. Such is the case for the mods found on the Seasonal Artifact. Usually, this process is straightforward, but when the Grasp of Avarice armor came underneath the spotlight, we found that under certain circumstances, some armor pieces would lose their Artifice sockets. This happened because as the Seasons turn over, the artifact mods are stripped from the socket and with nothing else in the slot to replace it, the socket attempts to resolve itself in a way that causes that aspect of the armor to become hidden. Normally, our process to avoid such a situation is to swap out the old Seasonal mods with their deprecated variants (empty mods which carry no gameplay effects). Bungie’s Ryan Hammond describes this “switcharoo” by saying, “Think of it as Indiana Jones swapping out the gold idol for the bag of sand.” Off by even a small bit, and everything can come crashing down. In this instance, some of the bags of sand we used were not quite right. We are working on a fix for this to ensure that everything registers as intended, but these little sockets are craftier than they appear. The true work comes with the next fix, which includes using a script to comb through all characters on all accounts to reinitialize specific components that make up these particular armor items, thus restoring all those lost sockets. As you can imagine, this takes time and it’s a complicated road to travel. We’re committed, though, and we are working hard on getting everything back to where it is supposed to be. As this is taking a little bit longer than expected, we wanted to update you on the process so far and communicate that this bug has not been forgotten. We appreciate your patience as the teams continue to work towards a sustainable solution that all can enjoy.
While they have fixed the issue insofar as new Artifice Armor will drop with the appropriate additional slot, I have to assume that replacing the lost Artifice Slots might come down to the devs having to: • Attempt to determine who completed Master GoA encounters that can drop Artifice Armor • Contacting those players to ask for a (“hey, please be honest”) list of which Armor pieces currently in their possession lost Artifice Slots • Recreating those items with matching stat distributions and levels of Masterwork investment. Such a solution, if undertaken, would understandably take a number of man hours to enact. (΄◉◞౪◟◉`)

Agree. Wish they would fix it. I too haven’t had a chance to farm new armor.
