Hello, i think everyone here knows what is happening in the community right now.
I'm a divinity user myself, and even tough i'm not a top 1% player, i agree with the necessity of a slight nerf. The gun has literally no downsides, because you have both a very big crit spot and a very good debuff that lasts the entire damage phase of a boss. Since its release, boss encounters had to be made around the fact that we are immortal, standing in a well and having so much damage too easily.
Bosses HP pools are way more inflated: take warpriest on day 1 for example. if you played it, you know how brutal of a DPS check that was, and not using divinity would have almost been impossible to beat him.
In my opinion, divinity should be nerfed so that it is still good for casuals who need it for clearing raids or whatever they want to do with it, but make it so a more skillful dps strategy of chaining debuffs and aiming crits will reward you with more damage than what you would get with divinity and holding your left click on LFRs. I think the gun could have two firing modes: one with the big bubble for easy crits, but no debuffs; and another firing mode where it has 20-25% debuff but no crit bubble.
I think sweat finally had one of his uncommon W's on his takes with divinity, check out his video too.
TLDR; The biggest damage output possible in the game should never be the easiest method of dps.

As someone that really doesn't care about div nerf or not getting touched. The one thing I do want to say is, div shouldn't be nerfed for numerous reasons and one big fact. Fact, it's been in the game for so long so why are we complaining on having it nerfed now. It's like the whole chappy or low when they got too hot in pvp. They were always good but as soon as the usage of them went up people complained. So it got nerfed. Opinions, the gun isn't really needed for raids except on day ones or maybe master versions. Raids can still be beaten without div. Along side gms. A lot of people have struggled to get the gun (should know considering I've carried numerous people across the year). So nerfing it would make it feel like a smack in the face to those who obtained it. This point I'm about to make is a little controversial, because this idea was made by a top 1% streamer, I'm more worried about people leaving the game because this streamer made this idea up (also if the nerf does go in affect). There is a lot of streamer haters out there who thinks bungie only ever listens to them. So if div got nerfed I feel like these people along with others who don't actually hate streamers might leave the game and player population will go down extremely as they might see it as a last straw type of deal. While I also say this, I do not think bungie ever caters to streamers especially because there has been a pot of changes been made that the casuals have always wanted. But of course these casuals do love playing the victim. But these casuals are also are "meal ticket" to keeping the game healthy (they bring a lot of income into the game).
