fps issues

First of all I know destiny 2 is not the best optimalized game but this is not OK. I have an avrage 80-120 fps while playing any activity. I play on 1080p everything turned off/low exept textures that's on high. SPEC: CPU:ryzen 5950x GPU:Asus rog strix 3090 RAM:32gb 3600mhz OS:windows 11 pro 64bit I have way more fps in other games with full graphic settings. Also I have seen people running the game with 200fps + all the time with a 2080. One of my friends is running the game in 4k with a 3080 ti with 170fps. I have noticed task manager display destiny 2 is using 0.1% gpu and around 5% cpu. Any ideas how should I get a massive fps increase? thanks for answears in advance

The reason task manager says 0.1% gpu and 5% cpu is because when you tab out of the game, it runs at 30 FPS. The only way to see the real usage while playing is either with dual monitors or a performance overlay.

    • Friend was having this issue and said reverting back to Windows 10 was the trick. Windows 11 just wasn’t working for some reason

    • Hey I am 5120x1440, 5900x - 3080ti, 120fps+ at all times. Ideas: It may not be engaging the GPU properly because it doesn't consider it worth while with what is being asked. Make the following adjustments to the nvidia 3d settings in the driver panel... Anisotropic filtering: 16x Low Latency Mode - Off (will render more buffer frames) Power Management Mode - Prefer Maximum Performance Shader Cache Size - Disable (theres something weird with how D2 interacts with this) Texture Filtering - High quality Disable all Vsync options (for now). Boot the game up, set everything to the highest settings except.... Turn off AA Turn off Depth of Field Turn off Chromatic Abs Turn off Movement Blur (forgot the exact phrase there) Disable HDR Everything else highest. Close the game. Reboot. Open the game. If it's still chunky, change to fullscreen mode or if youre already on fullscreen change to borderless window. If doing all this doesn't work, come back and we will try some other things, like Ryzen power management settings.

      • Your textures. They are a cpu load. Cpu is your performance. Other players even go into the game file and turn off shadows for even less cpu stress. Ie more frames. Now, this is not in anyway against your topic of how the game is running… Just helpful info to get better performance per the way the game does run even though your rig should be strong enough to do it without said compromises.

My fps is between 30-60 and I enjoy the game. 80-120 would be nuts EDIT : I also hear windows 11 sucks for gaming.

Something isn't right because I have a Ryzen 3900X and a Radeon 6900XT while holding pretty stable 120fps on max settings at 1440p. You cannot really compare "other games" to D2 though. D2 runs DX11 and was made in 2017 with a slight engine update in 2020, while still supporting legacy systems, other games can use DX12 or Vulkan and are more modern / made for today's hardware.

      • I am not very PC savvy, but I'm surprised you havent had some "smart alec" come in and say something like "Skill Issue". In any case, have a bump, hope you get some answers 👍
