a lot of the casual base and even those getting back into the full swing of the game can agree that some of the artifact champion mod combinations have left people feeling burnt out by the illusion of choice of their loadouts when forced to use weapon combinations they may be not comfortable/have fun with using. An easy solution? Have a champion mod slot available on every single weapon in the game next to the kill tracker for any champion mod, no more are we forced to certain weapon combinations.
Want to do Unstoppable Fusion Rifle and Overload sidearm? easy. Want to go back to Overload Trace Rifle and do barrier handcanon? go for it. Wanna feel a bit crazy and take out your anger on those pesky overload captains with an overload rocket? Knock yourselves out.
If you want to allow players to have free reign on their builds and loadouts, why not make all champion mods defunct and just put all three mods on every weapon in the game? Instead using the freed up slots on the artifact cycle through important build mods (Distribution, Impact Induction, Ashes to Ashes, etc...) to a lower amount and slap em on the artifact, because oh my god I miss running 1 power hands on and doubling them up, I really do.
