Witch Queen Had A Missed Opportunity Regarding Cutscenes And Replay-able Missions
With another replay-able campaign on the way, I can’t help but think about how much it bothered me that Witch Queen included a way to replay the story and yet completely missed the point of why many of the player base wanted that.
Most cutscenes were cut out of the replay-able missions. Why? What was the point of this? Who does this help? If a player didn’t want to see the cutscenes, they could’ve just skipped it immediately. All this does is make the replay-able campaign even more pointless for those who are mainly there for the story.
You gave yourself another chance before this when you added the timeline in the director. Clicking on a campaign or season could’ve taken us to a menu where we can watch any cutscene, similar to the cutscene viewer in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne.
Important side note: why did none of the cutscenes have the option to show our guardian without our helmet? Even at the Vanguard meeting in Zavala’s office, we still had our helmets on even though some of us had our settings to “off in non-combat zones.” I even checked my settings to make sure it was off while the cutscene was still on after noticing my helmet was still on. This also seems intentional, though I can’t possibly think of why you would do that.
